This Tuesday May 17 is Election Day for school board candidates in Rockland County.  As we all know the quality of the schools is one of the key factors in deciding which community many young people who have families or are thinking of starting families are going to live in and raise their families. It is essential that we in Rockland County learn as much about the various candidates as possible to make informed decisions. School budgets will also be on the ballot, and schools have been forced to tighten the purse strings ever more this year. The key here is too cut where possible, but always keeping our young people and the quality of their education in mind. So please make time to vote this Tuesday. You can read about the various candidates at the link below.  http://www.lohud.com/s...

About 100 Nyack residents and other guests attended the rededication of the Nyack library on Saturday. The ceremony included many local politicians as well as Elliot Engel. The renovation took three years at a cost of $11.5 million. The facility doubles the library's size and makes room for newer forms of technology. Entertainment was provided by the Lower Hudson Valley Youth Chorus and there was a symbolic ribbon cutting.  Thanks to all who brought this incredible project to fruition.

Today I received a call from a new client with a new listing in Nyack, New York. We're not scheduled to shoot until after Easter, but I wanted to stop by and at least scout the location. Today it was cloudy with rain approaching quickly, so with the agent's permission, I walked the property and made some quick photos for our reference. I can't post any scouting shots of the listing as it is yet to go to market, but I can share the amazing view from the upper balcony over the front entrance, showing the enormous Magnolia in bloom and the Hudson River sweeping to the Tappan Zee Bridge as we pan to the right.Click on the Photo to View the Interactive Panorama ~ Click and Drag to Rotate - or- use the Pop-Up Arrows at the bottom of the photo. 30 year mortgage rates rose ever so slightly this week going from 4.87% to 4.88%. Going back a year at this time rates were at 4.95. 15 year mortgage rates stayed exactly the same as last week at 4.15%. Mortgage rates have remained below 5% in every week except one this year leading to record home affordability in the Nyack and Piermont area and all of Rockland. For some Rockland buyers who have been on the fence, this could be a decisive moment.
