Well Nyack voters decided that the austerity budget measures were sufficient, and approved the $71.3 million budget. Claudette Jimerson was reelected, while James Marshall and Leeann Irvin will serve for the first time on the seven member school board. The new budget is 2.9% higher than the current budget. The district eliminated 36 jobs which include seven special education teachers, 17 elementary teacher assistants, and six special education assistants. Congratulations to the winners of yesterday's election.
