It has been awhile since I have done a Bon Jovi post but this is the perfect week to jump back in.  25 years ago this week Bon Jovi released one of their biggest albums "Slippery When Wet!"  I was already Bon Jovi's biggest fan (and I still am PATTY & Leilani, LOL) and little did I think I would still be attending their concerts 25 years later.   Through Active Rain I have met a ton of Bon Jovi fans and most have become close friends.  A few claim to not be fans but back me anyway.  So to Craig, Nick, Patty, Denise and all the others who frequent my posts and rag me about Bon Jovi - enjoy the video!  08/20/2011

Most single car garages are bigger than 89 square feet.  Jay Shafer of the Tumbleweed Tiny House Company has lived in an 89 square foot house for the past few years.  He sells plans for this model and you can build it yourself or buy it ready made.  Could you rid yourself of your belongings to fit into a space this size?  Watch the video and contemplate what you would keep if you had to move into a home this small.  08/17/2011

So it has been an extremely busy crazy week.  It has also been a very emotional week.  Last Tuesday I was coming home from a meeting at around 8:45 pm and I was exhausted from a long day.  Just as I got near my house it had started to thunder and lightening from the extreme heat and was already very dark out.  Just before my driveway as I passed a stretch of woods I saw eyes that had reflected in my headlights but they had been very small.  Thinking it was a raccoon or some other night creature I glanced out my window as I went by and saw a kitten. Immediately I pulled over and the kitten (which at the time looked days old) ran into the thick brush of the woods.  I got my flashlight out and found it immediately but it wouldn't come to me and I couldn't really get to it because the woods... 08/16/2011

Town of Wallkill based Mediacom Communications Corporation announces it will build a new 110,000 square foot headquarters in the Town of Blooming Grove instead of moving to New Jersey.  It is expected to be completed at the end of 2012 with an approximate cost of $35 million.  New York state's Empire State Development Corporation will contribute $7.5 million in an incentive package.  A total of 250 jobs will be saved in the region as the company has decided to continue on in Orange County.  This will be a large save in the current job market.  Mediacom Chairman and CEO Rocco Commisso said the company initially had a vision of moving to a state of the art corporate park to reflect the high tech nature of their business, but they received "tremendous cooperation and encouragement" from Or... 08/06/2011

I recently went to the Apple Store for the first time for an IPAD workshop and could not believe the mayhem.  The store was absolutely packed with a bazillion things going on and at one point I said to one of the sales people "Is it always like this?" and she said "Are you kidding?  Its slow today!"   Then I came across this video and could not stop cracking up.  If you have never been to an Apple store this will have you rolling and definitely wanting to go to one.  Enjoy! 08/02/2011

Today when I got home I threw my pile of stuff down and got ready to sit and work at my laptop.  Someone rang the bell so off I went.  When I returned my cat Miley was perched on the table (which she never does surprisingly) and I had my phone in my hand so I quick snapped a picture.  The picture is not the best quality because it was fairly dark and was snapped so quickly.  She was making it clear though that work was NOT to be my priority.  LOVE HER! One of my friends who sends me cute photos from time to time had sent me this a few months ago with a picture of her cat that was adorable.  I came across this today and decided to post it.  She took this picture when she heard a noise at her screen door.  Little did she expect to see this face staring back at her when she looked out.  But always prepared she snapped a picture.  At first I couldn't quite tell what it was, she had to tell me.  So I took the picture and brightened it up so the animal is visible.  It is not the best quality but the brightening up did the trick!   Dinner anyone?  07/24/2011

So today I am coming from a meeting with a client and I am riding on a highway near my office in Orange County, NY and the road seems awfully crowded for the middle of the day.  Mega cars and even more tractor trailers and some buses.  The tractor trailers are all in a row and in the left lane to boot.  For this area that is unusual as they usually stick to the right (especially when there is this many) unless they are passing.  So I move to the right lane and I am cruising past everyone when I look up and who do I see but Brad Paisley and realize it is a Brad Paisley caravan of vehicles.  It must have been his tour group making their way to their next gig.  So thanks Brad for making my day! I was out with clients yesterday and we were looking at multiple houses as they are looking to move into the area.  We were at a certain home and it stated there was a walk out basement.  We looked everywhere and couldn't find it.  The home was around 900 square feet so it isn't like we could have over looked it.  We walked around and around the home inside and out and gave up.  As we were leaving I had an idea.  I went to the back of the house where there was a large deck and crawled under it.  (Note the word CRAWLED)  I could see that way back under the deck where the deck met the house was a hole in the foundation. I took this picture when I was at the shark reef at the Aquarium in the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas.  Their aquarium shark reef is probably one of the cleanest I have ever seen with the most beautiful fish.  You walk through an area where the fish swim all around you literally.  They are overhead, under your feet and on the sides of you.  This is one of the better pictures that I have as in these areas it tends to be quite dark, the flash bounces off the glass and the fish move so quickly it is hard to get a good shot. I was at a meeting the other night and a friend was sitting next to me.  She handed me her phone to show me a picture of her animals and I couldn't help myself.  I busted out laughing right in the meeting because I was caught so off guard.  This picture was taken with her cell phone of her cat.  It is a little blurry but I think the cat's thoughts are perfectly clear!  How adorable is this picture!?  I love it!!   05/01/2011

Have you ever been to Bob's Discount Furniture?  In our area the commercials are on TV all the time.  To be honest I always found the commercials a little boring and plain.  I pictured the store as something small with a warehouse type feeling.   Several weeks ago when we were on our way home we decided to stop in to a Bob's store that had come to our area in the last few years and check out mattresses.   When I walked in I could not believe how wrong I was.  The second we walked in we were greeted by someone who offered their services but did not push which is exactly what I like.  I can't stand when someone follows you around and you can't get a moments peace to shop.  The store was extremely large with room after room of beautiful furniture.  There was a room with tables that served ... 04/02/2011

This week I discovered quite by accident a site called LunaPic for Photo Editing.  It is a FREE site which of course caught my interest.  Normally I will use Picasa or Picnik, both of which I love and use all the time.  However when I tried LunaPic I decided I will be adding this to the mix as well.  It offers different features that I found easier and quicker to do using LunaPic.  I grabbed a picture from my collection of neighborhood animals and then proceeded to do some fun things to the picture.  It took me less than 5 minutes to change the edge of the picture, add a text bubble and some text.  Now this is not what I would normally use it for but as you can see by the image above there are a lot of editing options that run along the left side and across the top.   Enjoy!   Photos by... 04/01/2011
