I was sad to learn the Carnegie Deli a NYC Landmark will be closing at the end of the year. This deli is well known around the world and is on the list of places to visit by tourist.I have always liked going there for a Pastrami or Reuben sandwich which I would share with my companion because the sandwich was way too much for one person. The walls of the deli was also taken up by photographs of all kinds of famous people, so while having lunch I would try to see how many of these people I could identify.       Will treasure the fond memories.

We focus on helping taxpayers handle civil and criminal tax problems.  The Department of Justice just announced that a New York City man pleaded guilty today to a criminal information charging him with tax evasion for tax years 2003 through 2005 and 2007 through 2010.  “Mr. Hager concealed over $7.3 million in undeclared foreign accounts in Switzerland and Israel and used a sham British Virgin Island entity in order to evade over $650,000 in U.S. taxes,” said Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General Caroline D. Ciraolo, head of the Justice Department’s Tax Division. “As this case demonstrates, the Department and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), together with our global partners, are successfully working on a daily basis to locate such undeclared accounts, identify those responsibl...

Every person embodies each of the five elements to some degree. When we learn to see the levels of the force inside a human being, we strengthen the insights required to make wiser decisions, for we are informed about the roots of our growth and weak points, our dreams, our doubts, our actions, and attitudes. When we know ourselves and others, we become accountable and can act accordingly and effectively to balance our minds and body.  Creative and Destructive (Controlling) Cycles Everything is in motion, and all process is cyclic. The creative and controlling cycles correspond to the cycle of flourishing and withering, beginning and ending, expanding and contracting, lightening and darkening. To accept that the only constant in our lives is changing is to harness the power of the com...

There are not many words that could be said about this date. For me, showing images of NYC being rebuilt and looking better then ever, is says more then enough. Sending prayers of peace, love and healing to all of NYC and really the entire world. Change needs to happen, and very soon.

Vegas Bob's memories of the World Trade Towers Vegas Bob found some old photographs when he was in New York City back in 1982, and he wants to share then with you because the "World Trade Towers" are in the photos.Back in 1982 VB was in Manhattan with the John Robert Powers Modeling Agency competing in modeling competitions with other models around the United States. This was a very "Happy Time" for VB and yes I did go to the top of the "World Trade Towers" and Robert Swetz was fascinated by the views of New York City. I also took a ferry out to the "Statue of Liberty" and that's where this photo (above) was taken.I am sharing this post with everyone because 9/ 11 is around the corner, and before 9/ 11 Vegas Bob remembers NYC like the photographs on this post. In between a NYC feng shui consultation from Tribeca to Madison Ave, I stopped off in Central Park to enjoy lunch and take in some fun people watching time. Next to me, I was serenaded by two guitar players and enjoyed just being present and taking in a few moments of stillness from the hustle and bustle energy of New York City.

Step one: Practice gratitude with what you already have.Step Two: Share your already existing abundance. That's right, as you gain, you share. This could as simple as sharing your time with another person or donating. Step Three: Understand your intention for why you envision more wealth. Is it to enhance your home? To start a business? To enhance your emotional and mental health? All these examples flow back into the meaning of wealth. Step Four: Do your best to feel that wealth of whatever it is you envision for from within your heart. That's right. It's your heart that does the manifesting. It's the mind that needs redirection and refocusing. How would it feel to have an authentic romance? How would it feel to travel to that destination you have been speaking about for years?  Allow ...

The Hearts if New York City's first landmark of the 21st century. It's a 46-story glass-and-steel skyscraper that establishes a number of design and environmental milestones. This is the first "LEED Green" office building in New York City history.  The Hearst is home to some of the most iconic magazines and Television stations, such as with The Oprah Magazine, San Fransisco Chronicle, A&E,History, and ESPN.  The building is named after William Randolph Hearts, founder of The Heart in 1926. The uniqueness of the building design combines past (through the foundation) and current (with the sky scraper). There is much more to learn and the best way is to visit the building yourself. Official website of The Hearst

I was checking out the Hearst Building in NYC after providing a Feng Shui walking tour and decided to take the subway near by back to Penn Station. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised with what I saw and smelled. That right, even the smell counts. NYC subways system's are known for their funk (especially in the summer time). This subway descent was enjoyable because I was greeted with the aroma of food and colorful walls, floors and even artwork along the ceiling. The lighting was also a great enhancer for the energy flow. It would be great to see all the subway systems have this type of presentation for commuters. Besides that, the New York City Subway System is considerd amoung the worlds best to navigate with its color-coded and letter-or-number-named lines.

Feng Shui Expert Laura Cerrano was interviewed by News China on the topic of feng shui. This ancient Chinese art form involves much more than decluttering and rearranging furniture in your home and work environments.  That's right! Check out MoMa for FREE EVERY FRIDAY NIGHT in 2016 from 4pm-8pm courtesy of Uniqlo.  It is recommended it attend the Free Friday nights an hour or so after it opens to the public as it does become a bit congested. This will allow the rush of the crowd to settle down. It's also recommended that when you attend, do yourself a favor and turn off your cell-phone. Perhaps I am "old school," yet I find it more enlightening and enjoyable to view works of art with your own eyes vs through the screen of your Iphone. You are literally standing in front of it ;)Is it really understood and appreciated the opportunity that has been gifted to us?... A free evening with Masters!  Simply be present with the artwork, with those whom you attended and enjoy.

Grand Central Terminal is for sure one of the biggest landmarks in New York City. Pop Quiz: Which is correct? Is this building properly refred to as the Grand Central Depot, Grand Central Station, or Grand Central Terminal? The asnwer is, Yes. All three are correct…depending on the year. The original 1871 building was Grand Central Depot. It became Grand Central Station after renovation and expansion in 1901. The new building unveiled in 1913—whose centennial we’re celebrating—is Grand Central Terminal. To read more histoy visit: History of Grand Central

Brief History through words and photos... First established in 1934As part of the West Side Improvement Project, the High Line opens to trains. It runs from 34th Street to St John's Park Terminal, at Spring Street. It is designed to go through the center of blocks, rather than over the avenue, carrying goods to and from Manhattan's largest industrial district. 1980sFollowing decades-long growth in the interstate trucking industry, the last train runs on the High Line in 1980, pulling three carloads of frozen turkeys. A group of property owners lobbies for demolition while Peter Obletz, a Chelsea resident, activist, and railroad enthusiast, challenges demolition efforts in court. 1999Friends of the High Line is founded by Joshua David and Robert Hammond, residents of the High Line neighb...

Choose Artwork That..Offers a open view or open space to observe. This could include abstract artwork that offers wide open spaces and does not feel congested with its design. Or you could use images of nature that give you a view panoramic view of a seascapes, landscape, mountain scape, sky scape or even city scape.  Be mindful Of The Furniture You Place Within Your ApartmentDue your best to select multi functional furniture that could also open and expand when needed.  Due your best to select furniture that has been designed with a curved, round or soften edges. Be mindful of the furniture's "bulkiness," height, width and selection of stain or color. Darker colors could create a heavy feeling. The bulkiness, height and width could create a feeling of condensing the space vs opening ...

When clients take the time to share their feng shui consulting experience, it's truly an honor and very much appreciated. It helps to shine a little more light into this uniqe world. Thank you! "I was recommended to Laura by a friend who couldn’t stop expressing how the energy in her home had changed and how things in her life were taking form after working with Laura. Being that I was going through a major life change, I reached out to Laura. From the first e-mail she was very professional. She listened and shared her knowledge (and she has a lot of it). Through working with her I was able to rediscover certain aspects of myself and refocus the energies in my life. Today, our home has positive energy and happiness.
