If you are not a meat eater (look away), and if you are, please enjoy! I've had various BBQs in my days, including in Texas. However! I have to say, by far Stuey's Smokehouse BBQ has won my taste buds! This was/is a gem of a fine by the way. Once again, after wrapping up a Feng Shui Space Clearing and Blessing, I stopped in town to grab a quick bite to eat, not knowing what I'd find and to my surprise, Stuey's Smokehouse BBQ caught my attention. As soon as I walked in, the aromas of the brisket smelled amazing! Paired with that, you could see how moist the meat was and the freshness. My expectations were high and after taking the first bit of my brisket sandwich, my expectation was exceeded! This is a small mom-and-pop eatery, so if you are intending to eat inside rethink that. However,...

This past Friday on September 23rd, 2016,  Ellen Hallie Schiff had her open reception at the Ariel Custom Framing in Locust Valley, NY. Ellen's pieces are abstract and offer a view into her transitional points of black and white to a palette of colors on canvas. The textures in her paintings are wonderful and keep your eyes gazing for long periods of time, finding new places to enjoy and take in.   Artist: Ellen Hallie Schiff  Opening reception on Sept 23rd, 2016 Ariel Custom Framing Address: 45 The Plaza, Locust Valley, NY 11560 Phone: (516) 759-5422

While checking out a car show in Morgan Park, NY one of the signs caught my attention. Do you see what I see? Based on the definition of "Park" that I came across it said," a piece of public land in or near a city that is kept free of houses and other buildings and can be used for pleasure and exercise." The post filled with small "don'ts" signs seemed a bit contradictory.  If anything, I just found this humorous. As long as the residents are enjoying, then all is good.  If you didn't catch my first sentence in this blog post, Mogan's Park signs of "don'ts" clearly says, NO CARS. Yet, a car show was hosted there. ;)

Some secrets to a balanced and happy love life by Feng Shui LI Clients will constantly say, I want to find love, how can Feng Shui help with that? What products or items can I place around my home to call in true love? Please keep in mind, Feng Shui will only go so far.  You need to address your inner alchemy blended with the physical connections. Before any of us can attract true love, you first and foremost need to have unconditional love of self.  One of the biggest misconceptions about Love is that people look for it outside of themselves. They look for approval of others and tend to sacrifice their own self respect, standards and values thus creating a situation for disappointment and hurt. Ladies and gentleman, it's not worth it. Learn to treat yourself with respect, with love, be...

Words of wisdom from a good friend Laura Cerrano Feng Shui NY consultant has some sage advice via her friend Michael LaPenna whose blog href="http://wheelchairphilosopher.blogspot.com/" title="The Wheelchair Philosopher">  :) is all about acceptance and being different though the lens of "disability." "Mikey" wanted to endorse Ms. Cerrano and leave some of his thoughts regarding having the right motivations and right thinking when using Feng Shui principles in your life. Here's what he had to say: Feng Shui is ultimately about decluttering the distractions and symbolically opening up to possible greatness through design, placement and comfort of and with your Surroundings. And REALLY believe! You must believe to be able to receive is what all the major traditions tell us. Be still and b...

If you find yourself in Locust Valley, on the north shore of Long Island and you're in the mood for a relaxing meal, take a ride over to the Locust Valley Inn at 225 Birch Hill Road.  After spending the better part of the day and early evening at my clients' home in this quaint and charming village, I was invited to join them for what turned out to be an altogether delightful evening, replete with good food, a homey atmosphere and even better conversation. An institution in town, and known for its good food and moderate prices, The Locust Valley Inn feels more like a well established, low key private home into which you've been invited and made to feel instantly welcome.  We were treated to a generous and varied buffet, with more choices than a hungry eye should contemplate.  I chose to...

Many of us I believe from reading the wonderful MEME'sthat are posted have had many career changes during their lifetimes.  While some have had more then others, being on the Activerain Community has made me wonder if you truly LOVED the work you are doing now?  It is something you fell into or is it something, perhaps without reason, that you felt DRAWN to and decided to pursue?  Despite the difficulties you have encountered (or are Still encountering), you know and feel THIS is what you were meant to do?Or is it a "stepping stone" to something that moves you closer to what it really is you desire to do?  For years I couldn't answer the question "What do YOU want to be when you Grow Up?" because I simply didn't know.  And while some of the professions I've had previously were interesti...
