Sunday was a beautiful sunny day and we decided to enjoy a ride up the Hudson River Valley.  In the Town of Cold Spring NY there is a great homemade ice cream shop.  The ice cream is great.  When I checked their web site it says that they serve the most delicious ice cream ever.  If you are traveling in the Hudson Valley stop in the beautiful Town of Cold Spring.  The town is on the Hudson River.  After you have visited all of the shops come down to the waterfront and get in line to buy some very good ice cream.    Then enjoy your ice cream while you walk the prominade (right) and view the spectacular Hudson River.Moo Moo's address is 32 West Street, Cold Spring NY 10516.You can check their web site here.Information and pictures provided by Grant Schneider, Performance Development Strat...

On Saturday I visited Cold Spring one of the small town along the Hudson River in Putnam County.  The plan was to stop at Boscobel walk the grounds and take some photos.  It so happened there was a special event scheduled for the location so I would not be able to linger. One of the reason I keep going back to Cold Spring is because of the scenery and below is an example.`I love going down by the dock,  however it was a busy area. There were many people just relaxing and admiring the scenery as well as two wedding photo shoots so I did not stay too long.My family and I was contemplating where to have dinner, and we decided on the  Depot located in an old train terminal where you could actually feel the trains going by.There were many visitors in the area, because it is easy to get to and...

This is an area along the HudsonRiver  where the mountain is located right at the edge of the river. The most prominent part of the range is Storm King Mountain.A boat trip in this area is so worth it, In a few weeks Fall will be here and the colors framing this mountain will be spectacular. This was the view from the Cold Spring waterfront.

Stonecrop Gardens Cold Spring New YorkA Hidden Gem in The Hudson ValleyA beautiful landscape of gardens in the Hudson Valley that is certainly new to me. I read about it in an article of what to do for Mother's Day this year. One look online at their photos and I was hooked. The gardens are open on Saturdays but for a few times a year they open the gardens for special occassions. I think that Mother's Day is a special day and off we went to see some absolutely beautiful flowers. A picture perfect day in the sun with flowers, blue skies, green everywhere and a singing frog in the pond. We were invited for lemonade and cake at noon and it was delicious.  A perfect afternoon in the Hudson Valley. If you are looking to spend a lovely day in the gardens you will find all their info, times and...

This was a nice surprise in my email box.  I got a note from one of my customers (she is a real estate agent).  Last summer, we helped her with her new purchase in Cold Spring, NY.  Let's just say the place needed a LOT of help.  And, I mean a LOT.  We assisted with the floors - we repaired several sections and sanded and refinished.  They then stenciled the floors and they look beautiful.  (We did stain, and poly, then they stenciled, then we put on more poly to seal the floors). Check out this video - both to see how the floors came out (they did this in a very creative way) and to see how they remodeled the kitchen on a very small budget.  It's very impressive.     Yesterday, I received this email from Andrea: ------ Debbie - check out the video we just entered in connection with our...

You would think, especially in this economy when it's challenging to get customers, that most restaurants would be on their best behavior.  They are in the hospitality business and good customer service ALWAYS wins.  (And, for the most part, this holds true for virtually any business.). What's odd is it seems that everywhere you go, you either get FABULOUS customer service or LOUSY customer service.  What gives? Today, I found myself on a journey upstate to Cold Spring NY along the Hudson, up around the West Point area.  I've never been here before, but I came here to help a real estate agent who is rehabbing an old home in this quaint town.  It was the perfect day - sunny breezy and a beautiful view of the Hudson on this Friday afternoon on this 4th of July holiday weekend.  Good moods...
