Barclays Center In Brooklyn NY Offers Insight To Urban Feng Shui Design The positioning of the Barclay's Center is not in an ideal energy flow location, according to the Feng Shui principles. It has been built on a triangular plot layout between Atlantic Avenue and faces fast on coming and going traffic flow. The triangular shape is said to bring mis-fortune to those who occupy the space if left un addressed.     The design of this building deflects the fast moving energy in tremendous ways. The curvature of the entire building acts like a river stone. As the water (energy) travels towards it, instead of hitting into it as it would with a square or rectangular design, it moves (flows) around the buildings.   The placement of the subway (with the subway entrance facing towards the Barc...

Greenpoint Brooklyn Open Studios-October 3rd-5th 2014 This weekend is the Greenpoint Brooklyn Open Studios from October 3rd-5th. I happened to have a Feng Shui client in Crown Heights, NY so it worked out perfectly to swing up to 67 West street, Brooklyn NY, 11222. That is only one of the many studios open this weekend.   There is also 37 Greenpoint ave, Pencil Factory 61 Greenpoint ave, and so many more. To see the locations of other studios please visit Greenpoint Open Studios.   I wanted to point out the dedication and passion these local, national and international artists have with their craft. So when a price is quoted you understand the value and worth being presented to you. The piece above is called, 'Paths of Memory,' created by Artist Collen Blackard.  I inquired about her pr...

Being born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, I can tell you there isn't any place in the world like home. Brooklyn is a very unique place that is larger than life at times.  I will admit that I moved out of NYC almost a decade ago, but I still visit frequently. I am a Brooklynite for life! Now when I was considering a new place to call home New Jersey was my top pick, but I was uncertain about the various areas, neighborhoods etc... I stumbled up on an article about Maplewood/South Orange and it felt like a perfect match.  10 years later, I am still here and I wanted to let you all know why you may want to consider Maplewood/South Orange as your next location to call home.    Here are my 5 reasons why you should move to Maplewood/South Orange:   1) REASONABLY PRICED!! In Maplewood/South Orang...

Does moving farther east still get you a deal? It's conventional wisdom that living closer to Manhattan saves you on rent. But what does it actually cost to live along successive L train stops? Shooting straight off the East Village into north Brooklyn, the L train is almost like a road map of gentrification and future rent hikes. For years now, the city's budget-conscious and/or artistically inclined have found accommodation off the L, and as landlords have hiked prices, they've steadily moved stops farther from Manhattan, adding a few minutes to the commute to save on rent. The pattern is so well-established that the L has earned the nickname "the line of gold" from Andrew Barrocas, founder of the real estate brokerage MNS.  But, as news came last week of rents in Brooklyn rising on...

Brownstones along St. Johns Place in Park Slope, Brooklyn New York City’s most populous borough is increasingly home to residents who come from outside the Empire State, according to a report. About 22 percent of all new tenants in brownstone and North Brooklyn in the first quarter of 2014 were from out-of-state. That’s up from 18 percent during the same time period last year, according to a report from brokerage Ideal Properties Group. Of those newcomers, 10 percent were from outside the U.S. In Manhattan, meanwhile, 13 percent of newcomers were ex-Manhattanites, a hefty drop form the 53 percent of all new leases signed that they constituted back in the first quarter of 2006. Of the out-of-state crew, Connecticut represented the largest portion of newcomers to brownstone Brooklyn at 2...

How to create a space of Sanctuary in your Home It does not take much, for it all starts with your imagination and envisioning.  You could pick a room or even a spot in your home that you seem to naturally gravitate towards when you are looking to find peace of mind within that given environment. For me I choose my library-office space.  That area of my home has a soft blue painted onto the walls and accompanied with a few images of nature and highly respected spiritual masters such as the Dali Lama. I also created a small altar that honors certain ascended masters such as Buddha and statues from the Native American culture, blended with candles, plants and sage. I have books that enhance my knowledge of Feng Shui and spiritual teachings in general along with enjoyable reads.  I have a ...

I have had clients, friends and even family ask me, "What is Your Success Rate?" I had never thought of my past clients in terms of a scale or tape measure, and even if I had, would never be able to "graph" their success rate?  Taking it a step further while thinking about it later, would it have meant my success in inspiring them to actually make the suggested changes?  Or being able to give them other perspectives so they can start to look at their lives and situations differently and begin to change into a different way of thinking?  I make it a point to keep up with my clients but some will not contact me after a consultation.  I later find out they did not make the changes or had taken advice on what to do to change the Energy. I wondered if Success is only measured not in HOW the ...
