Last week my wife and I went to the Woodbridge Deli, we go there often, ordered our lunch, waited for it to be made, talked with the workers, texted on the phone. When it came time to pay I was pre-occupied and wasn't thinking about anything other than what I was doing. Paid the cashier and went back to the office to eat. While I was eating it dawned on me that somehow she(the cashier) must not have charged me for my sandwhich. So I made a mental note to call her to let her know. Got done with lunch and before I knew it was heading home and didn't call. Ok so tomorrow I will call. You know what happened right, I didn't right it down or type it into my crackberry so tomorrow came and went and I didn't call. So the next day I decided the heck with the phone call, I'm just going to go ther...

Your Woodbridge Real Estate and your best friend(s)- Some love their pets like family and, if you're one of them, you'll be understandably concerned when choosing your Woodbridge Real Estate. I personally own 5 cats and used to have a dog as well so I can relate...There are definite ways to make sure you get the best Woodbridge home for your best friend(s); here are few tips: 1.  The features of the Woodbridge home are particularly important.  Before you go shopping for a pet friendly house, make a list of things your pet likes.  Also make a list of things your pet might destroy.  For instance, many cat owners find their pets ripping up the carpet.  A Woodbridge piece of real estate with wood floors might be ideal.  If you have a dog, it's probably important to have a fenced yard.  Many...

There are many wonderful reasons to want a home of your own. Right now is an excellent time to pick up a great deal on Woodbridge real estate. It's definitely a Strong buyer's market where you can purchase New Jersey homes at historically low prices. To be sure the time is right for you, answer a few simple questions for yourself: Are you ready to stay put for more than three years? If you move around a lot, have a job that sends you to different locales all the time, or just haven't found the area you want to settle down in, it can be a bad time to buy Woodbridge real estate no matter how great the price. Selling a home and moving is much harder than just switching apartments or other rental units. However, if you are ready to settle in a spot for a number of years, the value you get f...

It's almost time for the closing on the Woodbridge home you're buying and you can't wait.  You go to the property for the final walk-through inspection.  You're so busy thinking about where the furniture is going to go and what color you'll paint the walls, you breeze right through the house. It's after closing and moving day has arrived.  Your movers have already packed up your old house and are waiting for you to show up and unlock the door at your new Woodbridge home.  You enter the house only to find that the repair the sellers were supposed to make were not finished. You may wonder if you have any recourse with the seller.  Most likely not.  Unfortunately, your last chance to object to the condition of the house passed at the final walk-through inspection.  You need to be sure to ch...

Recently my wife and I along with a group of Exit Realtors had the pleasure of working on a Habitat for Humanity build in Newark, New Jersey.  It was the second day of the build so when I tell you it was "raw" it really was.  The foundation was laid, the back wall and two side walls of the house were up. We entered the house by climbing a ladder that had been propped up against the foundation.  During our time there we were able to construct the front wall and some interior walls before it began raining.  We were supervised by two very knowledgeable men from Habitat for Humanity.  I could not believe that I was able to raise a wall and begin to build a house.  The heaviest thing I lift in real estate is a pen.  Usually a hammer in my hand means something is going to be broken.  However ...

The new stimulus bill gives first-time home buyers a tax credit of $8,000! Whether the Woodbridge real estate you purchase is new or a re-sale there are always things you can do to make improvements. Here are a few ideas on how you can use the tax break for your new home. · Put in all new appliances. $8,000 will buy a nice set of kitchen and laundry appliances, and enough groceries to fill up that new refrigerator for several months on top of it.  · Furnish a room. Many times a new home means old furniture just won't fit in or fill it up. $8,000 goes a long way to decorating a new room or two. · Put on a porch. The stimulus money can be used to add value to your Woodbridge real estate by making additions like a patio or porch. It will make your New Jersey home even more enjoyable too. C...

To get your Woodbridge home to sell during a buyer's market, it needs to look better than the other houses on the street.  Making just a few quick changes can make all the difference when trying to best the competition.  Here are a few things to do to make your home stand out: A Fresh Coat of Paint Few things can spruce up your Woodbridge home like a fresh coat of paint.  Be sure to pick a neutral color.  Potential buyers won't be able to see themselves decorating and living in the home if they see too much of someone else's personality in the wall color.  Most home improvement stores will have color cards you can look through, this will help you find the most neutral color you can live with.  While you're at it, get rid of all the knickknacks and other items that may clutter up your ho...

Should you always buy the biggest Woodbridge home that you can afford?  A bigger home can give you room to entertain and a place for guests to stay.  On the other hand, a larger house will likely have higher property taxes and maintenance costs. There are other advantages to buying a smaller home.  Here are just a few: · Lower sale price.  A smaller home may have a lower sale price, reducing the amount of the down payment you have to make.  The closing costs you have to pay on a smaller mortgage may also be less.  You may even be able to pay for your new home completely out of the proceeds of the sale of your larger previous home.  · More money in your pocket at the end of each month.  A smaller home can save you a lot of money by reducing utility bills each month, and you'll save money ...

With all the talk of foreclosure in the news, it's easy to get worried about the future of your Woodbridge real estate.  The good news is that you have plenty of warning from your lender before they foreclose on the property.Foreclosure is when the lender takes legal action to repossess your home if you default on the loan.  When you miss the first payment, your lender will call you to make arrangements to get your loan current.  It's very important to talk to your lender at this point.  If you're having trouble making the payment due to a temporary problem, your lender may offer you forbearance on your loan for a month or two.If you miss a second payment, the lender will begin to call you more often demanding that you catch up on the loan payments.  You may begin receiving letters from...

The first sign of mold you notice may be a musty smell in your Woodbridge home.  After looking around, you spot what looks like mold.  Don't panic.  You can remove unhealthy mold from your house without paying an arm and a leg. Check to be Sure It's Really MoldMold can look many different ways, depending on the type.  Some are grayish-white, or black and can look like a dirty smudge.  If you're in doubt that a spot is mold, you can do a test with chlorine bleach.  Simply put a drop on the spot.  If the color immediately fades away, you have mold. Mold needs moisture to grow.  If you find mold, you know that you also have a water problem in your Woodbridge, New Jersey home.  So first, you'll need to find the source of the leak inside the home and repair it.  After that, you can begin get...

You may have heard of points when looking for Woodbridge real estate.  Maybe your loan officer told you that you can trade points for a better interest rate.  That sounds good, but just what are points? Let me give you a better idea of just what points are and how they work. What Are Points?Points, more specifically discount points, are a percentage of the total loan amount for the house that is pre-paid to the lender.  Each point is worth one percent.  Your lender may offer a lower interest rate for your mortgage loan if you buy discount points. What do Discount Points Cost? The cost of each point is equal to one percent of the loan amount. For instance, for a $200,000 loan one discount point equals $2,000. For example, you are trying to buy Woodbridge real estate worth $200,000.  The l...
