Mayor Leonard Desiderio  has appointed Thomas D'Intino to the chief's position.  The new chief will be sworn in on July 31.  This is a provisional appointment as he must pass a state civil-service police chief's test, which is administered in December. Thomas D'Intino is also the emergency management coordinator and recently implemented the reverse 911 system for the city.  This system also allows second-home owners out of the area to sign up for the reverse 911 phone calls. 07/17/2008

Sea Isle City will become another Cape May County town to put the reverse 911 system into place.  They plan to test the reverse system within the next two weeks.  The system will allow the emergency management office to pinpoint specific areas of the city, down to blocks and streets to warn of specific problems, such as flooding.  Out-of Town home owners  can add their primary number to the list, at the their request, according to Thomas D'Intino, Deputy Coordinator of Emergency Management. 06/05/2008
