HUD deal to contruct a 223-bed hospital and medical office building in Hopewell, Mercer County, New Jersey.  It will replace Capital Health System's aging Mercer Medical Center, expand Fuld Hospital.The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development(HUD) made a commitment to insure a loan to Capital Health System (CHS) in Trenton, New Jersey to construct a new 223-bed hospital in Hopewell Township, New Jersey to replace the existing Mercer Medical Center. New Jersey Real Estate - Hopewell Housing Market May 2008 Hopewell real estate has seen a substantial 26% reduction of houses listed this month compared to same period last year and to April of 2007.  The median prices for houses for both the Hopewell Township and Hopewell Boro has decreased compared compared to May 2007, less in the township and more in the Boro. The Hopewell Township Committee adopted an ordinance amendment Monday that would allow Capital Health Systems (CHS) to build a hospital up to 110 feet high - 10 feet higher than previously allowed - if CHS gets the other OKs it needs to build the facility.   CHS already has gotten an OK from the state to move most of its Mercer facility, on Bellevue Avenue in Trenton, to Hopewell Township.   CHS, according to Joan Kiernan-O'Toole, Planning Board secretary, has not filed a plan yet.
