Christmas Shopping at the Freehold Mall? Do Not Forget Our Veterans!

The boys and I met two members of the Greatest Generation. The Freehold mall was bustling on Sunday. Our economy seems to be humming along. I forgot to ask these two gentlemen their names in the Holiday crush. Let's call them Jimmy and Frank. They were manning a table on behalf of the United States Marine Toys for Tots drive of Red Bank, New Jersey. Jimmy and Frank are 'assigned' to Number 4374 VFW Post of Freehold Borough. Whether its the Salvation Army or the Veterans, throw a few coins in the metal bucket. Clang-clang. The sounds of Christmas. Or buy a crimson red Poppy. My father-in-law Pete Battaglia (God rest your soul, Pete) was a loyal VFW man. Sold Poppies outside Pathmark on Richmond Avenue, Staten Island every Sunday. These guys are the Greatest Generation. Let's support them...
