Is there a full moon? Maybe I was complacent that the spring market came in the middle of winter here in NH. That there was a steady flow of new listings. That there was a steady flow of buyers. All summer I  wrote about some of the most exciting pools I saw all year. Last week as summer comes to end in New England, I wrote about a home with some horrible carpet. Well some of you missed my pool pictures. So... I was very excited to get a call to list a new mansion type property last Friday. Yes, that is a trap door located on the inside of the front door. The pit is about 9 feet deep. This Windham NH area home was part of Searles Castle. Built around 1905, this home was originally the guest house. It had it all. Complete with a stone wall surrounding it. Secret stairways and this pit. The home quite the history as noted here.     It is not exactly clear when they started breaking up the 175 acre property and selling off buildings and lots. In 1991 they began to renovate the castle itself. In 2001 the sisters hired someone to manage weddings and events at the castle and courtyard. When it is time to move, you hope the seller takes everything? But every now and then they leave something behind for the new buyer? In this case though, there is no new buyer yet.
