Our friend April who lives in Webster is an incredible gardener and always generous to share the bounty with us.  Leslie had washed the vegetables and laid them on a papertowel.  The colors were so striking that I put them in a glass dish...photo op, right?      Raising our own vegetables is a goal but until then we are grateful to our friend for sharing  ;-)

We used to have a chance to walk by and visit with Miss Bernice in Sylva.  She grows the most incredible garden and I always love to look at her sunflowers.  They are huge, healthy and brilliant in color.    If there ever was a mystery as to why this flower is called "sunflower", it is quickly dispelled when looking into this beauty.

This friendly little cat with personality plus helped me preview a house in the Bullfrog Cove neighborhood of Webster the other day.  He's certainly flexible and socialized.  Full of good cattitude too! Usually, it never fails...I'll see these cute scenes when I'm out showing but the camera is in the car.  Generally the scene has changed by the time I retrieve the camera...not this time!

Frady Cove is one of my favorite NEIGHborhoods in Jackson County. It’s a great location with a rural feel but only 5 minutes to town and 10 minutes to Western Carolina University. We have clients who are considering making an offer on a new home in the Frady Cove neighborhood and because they had to return home to Chicago, I met with the builders on the property to tie up a few loose ends. For years I’ve enjoyed seeing the farm on the corner of Frady Cove Road and Blake Branch Road photographing the two horses and the mule. They always look healthy and happy. With the weather in the mid 60s on Thursday and the freshly mown hay, these guys were feeling pretty content. When I got done with the builders I returned to the field and pulled off the road. I thoroughly enjoyed an in depth conv...

Sure, I know I’m supposed to be photographing the house and getting the listing agreements signed…and I do all of that.     But who can resist a puppy sunbathing? I think this is a 9 year old puppy and she was so sleepy, she made for a perfect subject.  Her nine year old bones get gently warmed and my heart always warms when I see dogs or cats this comfy.       Do your puppies follow the sunbeam too? I know ours do, so would I if I felt like laying on the floor all the time!

Webster is a favorite neighborhood in Jackson County, NC. Originally, Webster was the county seat and still has fabulous old buildings and homes that have been well preserved. Webster has a feel of being central to everything in the northern part of Jackson County. From Webster it is a quick drive to take care of schooling, medical, shopping and entertainment needs. It is within minutes of Western Carolina University and Southwestern Community College.  This “like new” home located at 166 Amaroo Ridge is ideally located for anyone working in Jackson County. If your job entails entertaining frequently, this just might be the perfect spot for you. The house was built in 2007 with hardy plank exterior for easy maintenance. Inside is over 2100 heated and finished square feet with beautiful ...

The subject line read "Gnomeland Security" and was from our client Mark Jamison of Webster, NC. I knew I was in for an entertaining email.  We've known of Mark a lot longer than we've actually known Mark.  He is a prolific writer of letters to the editor, postmaster of Webster, NC and until recently a member of the Webster Town Board.  We met through a mutual friend a couple of months ago.  She had told him good things about our real estate business and he asked us to list some property he owns on Pressley Creek for him.  While getting familiar with the property, I had a chance to get to know Mark a little.  Have you ever met someone that you wish you'd met sooner?  I met him at his house in Webster, right next door to his post office.  I was so taken with the gnome inhabitants living s...

Today has been a beautiful day here in Western North Carolina.  I spent a couple of hours this morning with a musician, a Town Board Member and the Postmaster of Webster, North Carolina.  All rolled into one!  What I haven't mentioned is that Mark Jamison is also one of the most prolific editorial letter writers in Jackson County.  He regularly contributes well documented, thought provoking and cage rattling opinions. Whenever one of his letters appears, I know I'm about to get educated. While I'd love to have you think I was hobnobbing with a local celebrity just for the pure exposure of the experience...I wasn't.  We have a mutual friend who's mentioned for years a piece of property out in Pressley Creek that Mark would like to sell.  Mark stopped by the office a couple of weeks ago t...
