We've had the mixed bag of weather and other occurences here in Balsam, NC over the last couple of days. Sunny days when rain was predicted, rain when clear skies were called for. I chose the "clear" day to do some wood burning, the winds were calm and rain was predicted for that evening. Hah!   I got the fire going...no easy feat since so much of the wood was damp but yes, I got it going well. After a couple hours of burning and making decent headway on the stacks of wood around here the first shower showed up.       That lasted half an hour or so and afterwards I revived the fire. Another good hour of burning and the skies opened up. Mocking me because I could still see a sliver of blue for a short period. This was no shower, this was a deluge. From the protection of the covered por...

Okay, invasion is a bit of an overstatement.  Our sellers at the Lantern's Wick property in the Greens Creek community recently powerwashed their house and removed some personal belongings, and the listing warranted new photos.  When I got there, this beautiful moth occupied a prominent spot on one of the covered front porch shutters.   Mothra was Amazonian in size...at least 6 inches tall and gorgeous in color, a very commanding presence.         Don't you think this moth sort of looks like a jewel adorned velvet evening cape?

That's right - you heard read me! Grab a chair, gaze upon these gripping great graphics in Greens Creek.  This isn't a free ride though, we're seeking some phenomenal marketing advice.   A few weeks ago, I posted an article about this incredible large cabin in Greens Creek on the more than two acre "campsite perfect" lot located between Dillsboro and Franklin in the mountains of Western North Carolina.  Then, because we are so crazy about the artistic versatility and mastery of seller Paulette Taiclet and the craftsman quality of her husband Larry's carpentry skills, I posted an article about the art.  Since there was soooo many special artistic touches, it took a separate article.   Here's where you readers and SEO experts come in.  The sleeping quarters and additional gameroom space ...

It is so pleasant to travel between the two new listings we have in Greens Creek.  The area gives me another reason to "horse around".    This is a beautiful Weeping Willow tree on Brooks Branch Road.  There is usually a horse out by the barn either frolicking or munching.  I find it really hard to just drive by without trying to catch the photo.  Greens Creek is a community located 4 miles south of Dillsboro off of US441.  Its a lovely combination of mountains, valleys and pasture land. The area is named after Greens Creek, which is a rapidly flowing creek running alongside the road.  It's a stocked trout creek and on April 1st, opening day of trout season will find the roadside very popular with the trout fishing crowd.  The horse however, could care less about trout season!  All he c...

Who doesn't love Wonder Woman?     Have you ever been humbled or awestruck by the depth of some people's talent?  We have recently listed a great cabin in the woods of Brooks Branch in the Green's Creek community.  The house is currently owned by an artist and her talented husband.  Every room and every inch of deck is evidence of either her artwork or his incredible handcrafted furniture.   I will be posting full photos of this remarkable house in the next few days...in the meantime, I wanted to share just a sample of Paulette Taiclet's awesome graphic artistry found in the basement of this house.  Both the poem and the graphic of Wonder Woman just blew me away!
