With the warmer weather upon us, Willetts Properties team has been working around the clock.  With the new tourist activity increasing, we have been busy working open houses, and making presentations.  The team has taken over a new home neighborhood in the Sunset Beach area, Sunset Ridge, with homes starting in the low $200s.  This new neighborhood is just one example of the rising local building permits being issued. I would really love to live in River Run. I have an ingrained sensitivity to harsh development practices. It pains me to see irreplaceable trees cut down unnecessarily. It hurts me when newcomers and visitors to the area think the Official tree of Brunswick County is the Palm tree, which has been introduced here ad nauseam since the early eighties. That's why every time I pull through the gate at River Run, I take a deep breath and give thanks that a community like this still exists. When a client contacted me wanting to list his waterfront lot in River Run with me, I couldn't say no. This is my first blog on this website and I'm really excited.   Brunswick County has consitently been one of the top 30 fastestgrowing counties in the US.   The maount of growth that I've seen in just 5 years is phenomenal.  The best signs for an investor are:  Growing infrastructure, Water and Sewer becoming more prevalent, New roads and bridges being built, New employeers coming to the area, Increasing number of people moving to the area.   the answers to all those questions are YES!  YES!  YES!  Sewer is going in throughout the county and it is being installed in our number #1 beach community Oak Island.   A new international container port is coming to Wouthport, which will bring a lot of jobs and money to the area  Our local schools are getting crowded and there are plans to build ... 04/30/2008

Down here in Southport, it's just starting to feel a little different. Even though we've had our share of warm spells and 70 degree days this Winter, last weekend conjured up that unmistakable feeling of anticipation that has less to do with temperature and more to do with the primordial wake-up call that's being played all around us. You wouldn't know it by looking at my yard....all is still asleep including the bud-swelling, free-wheeling wisteria which has a conceded stranglehold around my front porch. We have attempted to guide and foster this determined plant which has muscled its way around around pickets and rail. This is a case where the picture and not the event nudged me out of my recent writing slump. I admit I get pretty caught up in the Fall trying to capture the perfect sunset. There are just so darn many of them. I usually start sizing up the clouds for potential around 4ish when I'm headed home. Sometimes the perfect sky comes out of nowhere but normally the late afternoon sky offers a "heads up" you can count on. The tranquil scene above doesn't fall into the spectacular category but to me it speaks of that perfect stillness of fading light.
