     Thank the Good Lord for another Good day. Today I showed property to folks that I have sold to 20 years ago.  It is good to still have folks that think you did a good job for them then and I hope that I can still do good for work them now. They are choosing to move back to Oak Island after building their dream home on the banks of a river in  Tennessee. I am finding myself in uncharted waters when it comes to closing a transaction right now.  Banks are giving buyers a harder time it seems.  Are you seeing it?  Hidden fees that you are not familiar with?It seems like everyone is having a harder time so therefore trying to make up deficient with additional fees.  I have just been wondering if it is the lenders, originators, attorneys, inspectors that I am working with or not.Share your thought with me please.Business is picking up right now.Ginger of Southport 10/19/2016

Today we had rain again.  Luckily we planted our seeds this past weekend and then the rain came. We had laid the garden out for the butter beans, sweet potatoes, squash, tomatoes, and cucumbers.   Then as an added bonus, Jimmy put in giant sunflowers to brighten the garden.We will  enjoy fresh cucumbers and tomatoes from the Fall planting.. for the Labor Day..It is anticipated that we may get some rain from a tropical depression....may be named later on this week..With you were here.Ginger of Southport  08/30/2016

 Do you take time to smell the roses?  I have had the wonderful experience of spending time with my nine month old granddaughter, Marissa. We had such a great time pouring tea and eating snacks.  Then we had to dress the babies dolls and feel them.  WE loose precious time when we do not look around and see the beauty right under our noses.  Time that can never be made up.Smell the roses this weekend...Ginger of Southport  07/22/2016

 Growing up as a child was a wonderful experience for me.  I had 3 brothers and dinner time was always a treat with six of us around the Dinner table enjoying Mama's delicious cooking. As a young person, our family would watch TV on Saturday and Sunday evenings....Mama would pop  popcorn and we would sit around and watch the Ed Sullivan Show.  We would see the new performers enter into the entertainment arena.  I remember seeing Stevie Wonder doing the finger poppin thing and also the Jackson 5.  Elvis with his gyrating hips..and of course the BEATLES! Shirley Temple was my favorite.  I would watch "The Good Ship Lolipop" and dance along with her.  Then there was that "Masked Man on the White horse"....and then the Ape Man that swung from the vines... We would play outside till dark and... 05/16/2016

 WE have folks that come to our area to learn that we live within 10 miles of a Nuclear Plant, which supplies Power to much of the county and other surrounding counties in the area. We feel compelled to let folks know that right off the bat.  Some freak out and other say, "If I gotta go, This is the way I choose"...Quick It is a fact that we are close to the plant but I never think about it.  I have lived here for 35 years and we are still  happy and still in one of "North Carolina's Best Kept Secrets".. 02/26/2016

 One of the things that I do as a Volunteer, is to make afgans for the folks in the Dosher Nursing Center  in Southport.  I have such a feeling of accomplishment when I finish an afgan and am able to take it to a perfect stranger in our Nursing Center. I spend approximatly 40 hours Crocheting these afgans and usually spend a few hours an evening making them.  I try to take at least 2 afgans to the center each month.  It is such a pleasure to take an afgan to the nursing center and go down the hall and find someone that does not have a lot of personal items in their room.  I will then wrap the afgan around them and tell them that I made it "Just for them."  They usually start weeping and say "You made it just for me" ...and I reply..."Yes,  Just for YOU".  I am always the winner in this.... 02/16/2016

These are terms that I have heard since Real Estate 101.  Are these the terms that you are familiar with. The Tire Kickers and Tooth Pickers are those possible FUTURE buyers that want to use YOUR precious time right then.  The are NOT qualified and do not have the means to purchase right now but are thinking about it... Over the 32 years of experience, I do not put tooth pickers or Tire Kickers in my car.  I have a potential BUYER qualified by one of our local lenders.  Then, I show them houses in their price range. AS we all know...TIME IS MONEY 02/09/2016

I love watching the points grow and I am getting to know others that are close in points.  I love to read their blogs and respond back to them.It is so much fun to see our points grow...from the beginning to what we have now.You can learn so much from your active rain associates.  Southport is my favorite place to be.  WE have been aorund the world and know..Southport is home and that is where we always want to get back to.Here we are sitting on the Dock in the back yard.  This is Beaver Dam Creek and we catch Crab and a variety of fish off this dock.My favorite fish is Puppy Drum.  Nothing better than to catch a drum, clean it and fry it up for Dinner.  Then fix hushpuppies and Coleslaw, french fries.  Top is off with Lemon Pie and Sweet Tea.Posted by With warm regards,   Ginger Harper http://www.GingerHarper.com gingerharper@seacoastrealty.com 10/17/2015

  For me, it began as a normal work week.  I skipped the Office Meeting and went on the the Southport Office. When I arrived, Vicki our secretary was in tears and said to me "Look at the TV"...As I looked, the 2nd plane flew into the North Tower at the World Trade Center.    I was Stunned into complete silence and totally immobile.  When I gained a bit of composure, I went to the bank and drew out $2000 in cash and hid it in my car.  I did not know what was going to happen next and thought that it may not be over. Then I went to our Church, to go inside and Pray for our Country.  The doors were Locked.   Promptly, I called our Minister and asked that he please unlock the Doors of the church so that people could enter the church and pray should they choose to.  That was done.  The doors ... 09/11/2015

Southport - Oak Island, North Carolina Living on the SouthEast Coast of North Carolina, we have seasonal real estate in our area.  Mainly the majority of our business is done in the Spring, Summer and Fall.  Not much happens from  Thanksgiving to Memorial Day. WE have wonderful Falls with lots of fishing and boating for all to enjoy..  We have wonderful beaches in the Summer for the "Sun Worshipers" to enjoy and also the "Shellers"   who enjoy picking up beautiful sea Shells for collections for artworks or crafts. Also in the Fall...we enjoy the abundance of our fruit trees and grape vines.  WE  "PUT UP"our preserves and jelly to enjoy all year long and  to share with family and  friends. There is much to do when  the season is over and the tourist go home; Festivals, fishing tournament... 09/03/2015
