A Day of PACZKI's Will Yield a FAT TUESDAY!   I'm not Catholic nor am I from Polish descent. But, my calendar states that tomorrow is 'Ash Wednesday'... which means today is FAT TUESDAY! Or, is it really PACZKI DAY?!? (pronounced PUNCH KEY) While grocery shopping this afternoon, this bright RED package of PACZKI caught my eye! Seems, like I remember reading something about these doughnut-like pastry's having something to do with 'FAT TUESDAY'. So, I thought...HEY WHY NOT...for $3.99... If I eat a couple of these PACZKI's by the end of the night, then it will surely be a  FAT Tuesday!!! (or should I say, I will BE Fat ON Tuesday?)

There isn't just golf in Pinehurst - tennis ladies win their first match. Go team Legacy. It was opening for the Pinehurst area USTA tennis season. This year I am the captain of this team and we had our first match and first win of the season. It was a great day with temperatures in the 60's with a bit of overcast skies to shield out eyes from the glare of the sun. We played 3 courts of doubles and won 2 out of 3 matches for a team win. So remember that Pinehurst isn't just for golfers! Come play tennis in Pinehurst or just come out and watch team Legacy!

You don't have to retire in Pinehurst to have this view as anyone can live on Lake Auman. Though if you were retired imagine this being the first thing you see in the morning and the last thing you see in the evening after a nice afternoon on the golf course. One of the nice things about Pinehurst is that you can live in a golf community that also has great lake front living. Enjoy boating, fishing, water skiing or just take in the breath taking views. Homes on this particular lake run from the mid $400K range up to over $1,000,000. You could have a nice modest size house or a larger more elegant home. It is your choice and all are welcome. So consider enjoying this view after a nice day of golf -or maybe even tennis- everyday should you choose to retire to the Pinehurst area.

One of golf’s top players and a defender of the game’s tradition, Ben Crenshaw and course design partner Bill Coore have completed the long awaited restoration of the famed Pinehurst No. 2 golf course. This historical course has already hosted two U.S. Open Championships and will make history in 2014 when it is the site of both the U.S. Open and the Women’s Open in back-to-back weeks. The work gradually began in 2010, without closure to the course or to individual holes until mid-November. The objective of the Pinehurst No. 2 restoration was to return to the course’s natural aesthetic characteristics while bringing back the strategic play originally crafted by Donald Ross.  Learn more about the restoration and official re-opening of Pinehurst No.2   Spring has arrived in Pinehurst and...

Another great reason to retire in Pinehurst is that spring starts early and goes all the way through May. Beginning in February the Daffodils and some of the Bradford Pear trees started to bloom. Towards the end of the month this tree which is a type of Magnolia begins to bloom - and as you can see by early March it is blooming in full. So if it is golfing you enjoy, taking long walks on the many trails in the Pinehurst area, playing tennis or joining a garden club - an early spring means you can get started on your favorite activities sooner. And as the winters are also mild in the Pinehurst area you can usually participate in your favorite activities throughout the year. Pinehurst Area Information

The Children Of The Sandhills Horticultural Center!   This Center/Garden is an amazing place to visit all four seasons throughout the year. The weather here in Pinehurst has been breathtaking the past couple of weeks and I happened to be near the Horticultural Center this afternoon, so I stopped in for a leisurely stroll and the sculptures left me 'Wordless' in the Pinehurst Carolina Afternoon!   (The Circle of Peace Statuary - The sculptor, Gary Price of Springville, Utah, has depicted 7 children from all walks of life, playing and enjoying each other.  The circle, the children form, represents the continuum of humanity.  The clasped hands represent the interaction and cooperation that engenders a humanity full of compassion and respect - respect for each other's uniqueness and compass...

It was more like early summer in Pinehurst today and the golfers were taking advantage and the flowers are blooming. With the 80 degree temperatures and the sun shining bright - golfers and flowers started popping up everywhere. Driving around the many golf courses we saw golf carts buzzing around from hole to hole and the buds in the trees starting to bloom. It is a bit early in the year for these temperatures so I hope the fruit trees won't get harmed if there is a bit of a freeze or frost in the coming weeks. Other than the potential for harm to some of the fruit crops it was a very warm welcome for this beautiful weather. Whether you are a golfer or you just love to see the flowers and trees come to life - it was a beautiful day to be in Pinehurst!

Pinehurst NC Real Estate - Meeting with the original builder to see if renovations could make this house their next home for their retirement. Today we met with the builder of this lovely home to see how much it would cost to make the changes this couple would like so that this could be their new home. The house is already very lovely but was lacking in a few areas. Chuck Bolton of Bolton Builders - one of the most respected builders in the area - was kind enough to meet this couple to go over the changes they might want to make and give them a ball park but fairly priced estimate. The changes they wanted included adding a half bath, tiling the master shower, enclosing the screen porch and putting down hard wood floors. Now they know the costs for the changes to this Pinehurst Golf hom...

Pinehurst Area Information - The beginning signs of spring are here. The daffodils are sprouting out of the ground and the cherry trees are starting to bloom. Even thought the Pinehurst winters are short - it is nice to see the signs of spring. I noticed the daffodils last week and today showing this house was the first of the cherry blossoms I have seen season. My favorite will be when the dogwoods are in full bloom. Then you can be sure winter is finally over and the spring/summer season is in full swing. Get ready for spring in Pinehurst and contact me if you want to know more about the area.

Village Acres of Pinehurst POA Meeting TONIGHT | 7PM | Pinehurst Village Hall   Last year was VERY successful for our Association!  We were able to install 'NEW' neighborhood entrance signs at Spring Lake Drive, Gun Club Drive and Forest Drive.  A Membership Drive Committee was also formed and has taken on the task of reaching out to all the Village Acres residents to inform them about our voluntary association.  The association has grown and we will receive a 'number' tonight at the meeting. A new facebook page has been created for the Village Acres of Pinehurst POA in an effort to improve communication among the association and our neighbors.  Check it out!  The facebook page will be discussed at tonight's meeting.  If you have an idea or suggestion for the POA, please let us know! On Monday - Feb. 14 the Pinehurst Resort owned by the Dedman family purchased the Pit Golf Links in Aberdeen. Some speculate this may be a renewal of the Resorts plan to build a golf Village in the town of Aberdeen. The Pit was purchased by a Charlotte man as a foreclosure recently for $1.08 mil. The purchase price by the Pinehurst Resort was not disclosed. Currently the plans for the Pitt as a part of Pinehurst has not been decided. An analysis of the course and the surrounding area will be investigated. It is unknown if it will be a resort course such as the #8 course - open to the members of the Pinehurst Country Club or both. It is also questioned as to the possibility that there could be memberships to those outside Pinehurst property owners as is currently the case for Pinehurst ...
