Wildlife in the neighborhood of Clarks Chapel, Franklin, NC Last Saturday night I was going out and saw three sets of deer on the way to town.  I think they know when hunting season is over.  I love watching them.  These pictures were taken Friday morning on my out of the driveway. When they saw me, they all started running toward me.  It was the strangest thing.  I told them if they could just wait until I got my camara out I would feature them on Active Rain... :O) ________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I don't know how many wild Turkey there were here but it seemed like at least a dozen or so.  As soon as they seen me they hustled out there.  This was in the cow pasture next to my house.                                            "Chimney and Fire Places are nice but can also kill" A fireplace or wood stove can help warm your house and lower your energy bill however, don't forget to clean your chimney and fireplace to prevent creosote buildup, which can cause dangerous chimney fires. We had a friend who had a close call this year and had her two boys in the home with her.  Thank God she was home and on the couch and heard a strage noise coming from the chimey.  She had to call the fire dept. and they put the fire out.  It is possible to clean your chimney yourself if you have the right tools and are not afraid of heights, oh yeah you have to get on the roof.  Chimney cleaning logs are used by many homeowners to clean away the buildup of creosote in their chimneys from f...

Who is eligible for the tax credits?First-time buyers are eligible for up to $8,000, depending on income. Existing-home buyers must have ...

My first day that I got 2 accepted contracts in one day!  I have never had 2 accepted contracts in one day.  It made me so excited.  I called my husband on the way home to tell him about one of them and by the time I got home I had another one to tell him about. It's almost a full moon and strange things happen ya know. I am sure there are a bunch of you seasoned agents that this has happened to & more but its a first for Becky and I. I am sure it happened all the time when the market was good but I was not in this business then.  I was just getting my license in 2007.  I have done pretty well and I am doing so much better by learning something new everyday, having goals, having a coach, coming here and soaking up all the knowledge you guys are willing to share and a lot of dedication t...

Franklin, NC - Winter here usually is not this bad I moved here to Franklin, NC back in 1993, two weeks after the winter storm of "93".  Originally from Glens Falls NY and moved to Ft. Myers, Fl because I hated winters.  I just can not stand to be cold period.  Franklin is an area that usually does not get really bad winter wheather like we have had this year or I wouldn't live here.  :O) This was this past Thursday in Clarks Chapel Community Franklin,NC.  I made it home way before the snow was sticking to the ground.  I learned my lesson from last Frinday when it switched so quick from rain to snow I found myself on the side of the road so scared I wanted to cry but I did crawl & slide home and made it safely.        Slippery Driveway          Here is a night shot at my house. Hwy. 64 West of Franklin, NC - Nantahala River - Rainbow Springs Franklin, NC. I was out last Saturday before last showing a house, Rainbow Springs/Nantahala area in Franklin, NC 28734.  As we drove up the mountain the ice was massive on the sides of the rock here.  I was telling my clients we use to watch ice climbers every year here taking advantage of Mother Nature and having fun climbing.  The ice looks like a aqua blue froze to the rock that was blasted out years ago to make way for Hwy. 64 in Franklin, NC.  This road leads over to Nantahala Forest, Rainbow Springs, Murphy, Andrews, Brass Town. Here are a few photo's of the adventure we had. There were Bear tracks for about a mile on this road to the home I was showing.  The Water falls seen here are on Rainbow Springs road that go...
