I took a sabbatical from Active Rain.  Isn't it amazing how you do not do it one day.....then SEVERAL months later you realize it.   When was the last time I even posted a blog?!? WOW!  I have spent a lot of time nurturing my other activities that I have in my life!  I relearned to crochet.  Amazing how it was not fun when I was on bed rest with child #3!  Here is a scarf I did for my Sweet Caroline.....luckily it snowed this year!     I have taken up sewing.  Pictures will follow on how this experiment works!  Blogging is great do not get me wrong.........but sometimes it will consume you!  Focus is my goal for 2009.  I made some big changes in my life and my business this year......but that is another blog!  Which will hopefully be sooner than later.  Right now I have a dinner dates w...

There are some key points that I would like bring out of the study: 1.  Farmville is expected to experience great growth in the next 5-10 years.  The population currently is about 4,500.  They anticipate the population to surge to around 7,000!  2.  The town needs to improve the parks and recreation department as a whole.  One of the major takeaways was Farmville needs a wellness center, for lack of a better term. For years my friend, Amy Church, and I have tossed around the vision that Farmville needs a YMCA.  As of yesterday, we are one step closer to that dream!  After several phone calls with ...

Farmville's Friends of the Public Library had a very nice "exploratory" meeting tonight in the Davis Room.  Several board member and the public discussed ways to make the Friends Group better.  Various ideas came out of the meeting.  Mrs. Minnie Lee Winborn thought of a wonderful fundraiser.  We are going to explore selling Christmas trees this year!  Farmville has not had a place to purchase trees in a number of years.  Those could be preordered or purchased for sale.  More information on this will be coming soon! How great would it be to have a fresh tree from the North Carolina mountains.  We are planning more events and I will definalty be posting on those in the future.  If anyone would like to join the Farmville, North Carolina Friends of the Library, please contact Katie Evans at...
