In any downturn, including the Charlotte real estate market, it's important to consider your options carefully.  When gas prices spiked six months ago, many people reacted by selling their large cars for a loss to buy smaller cars.  However, they lost more money selling their car for a loss than they gained by buying a more efficient car.  If you have the itch to sell your house in the Charlotte area for a loss without reinvesting in the real estate market, read on, you might be surprised. Acting too hastily could result in a bigger loss than you anticipated if you sell your house for a loss and fail to reinvest in the real estate market.  Even after the stock market crash, Warren Buffet wrote in a New York Times Op-Ed piece that he was still investing in the stock market. This is not t...

Just last year, Web Full Circle obtained an 11th place finish in The Charlotte Business Journal's list of Top 25 Web Designers.  Building upon the innumerable gains percipitated by that accolade, Web Full Circle is now one of the Top 10 Web Design Firms as named by The Mecklenburg Times.  As things become more competitive, the nomination speaks volumes about the efforts of President/Owner Josh Astete and his dedicated staff of professionals.  When asked what the award means to him and his firm, President Astete observed that "Web Full Circle prides itself on these type of accolades which are locally determined based on feedback from the community we serve."  President Astete observed that, "Web Full Circle remains committed to building on the momentum of a very successful year which beg...

Fall is here!  My favorite time of the year.  The air is crisp, the leaves are in all their glory and if you live in Charlotte there are festivals galore. I have to give a shout out to one of my favorite places to visit in the fall - Riverbend Farms. Located 10 minutes from Mint Hill just off of Albemarle Road, Riverbend offers a country store, farm animals, tractor ride to an 18 acre pumpkin patch and a playground with slides made out of Silos and picnic areas.  There are also plenty of educational opportunities with a wigwam, beehive house and 100 year old Log Barn.  Kids can feed the fish from the covered bridge, have a picnic at one of the numerous shelters, feed the goats at the goat walk or have hot chocolate at the country store! Admission is $5 and you have to pay for the pumpki...

Charlotte is a Perfect Four (seasons)! September 27th, 2008 categories: Blake Garvin, Charlotte Lifestyle Actually I think we all feel Charlotte is perfect especially at this time of year. As the summer turns to fall and our minds turn from warm days and gorgeous beach sunsets to crisp fall football weekends and mountain foliage. I know sounds like some sappy commercial but it's true Charlotte is so close to the mountains and the beach that you will once again fall in love with the change of seasons! Blake says it best.... "Whether it is the beach or the mountains you like, Charlotte is surely close to both.  I love my city life, but it is nice to be able to go away for a short weekend to a beautiful beach or a nice mountain inn.  I love both of the beaches I have visited......Wrightsvi...

Radon, Run for your Lives? September 29th, 2008 categories: Betsy Mayer, Real Estate Grind OK Godzilla may be a little over top. It is not our intent to make light of the radon issue, especially when by some accounts radon poisoning kills 21,000 people in the US each year. (radon-induced lung cancer is thought to be the 6th leading cause of cancer death overall according to Wikipedia) So hopefully our post today will be a start and provide some resources EPA says for a better understanding of a serious issue for some homeowners. Its should be pointed out that radon has not typically been a southern problem (Lord knows we have our share) but radon is not usually one of them owing to the fact that radon is most prevalent in basements and bedrock - apparently radon does not like red clay. ...
