 NEW BALLANTYNE AREA HIGH SCHOOL GETS A NAME: BALLANTYNE RIDGE HIGH SCHOOLA new high school is opening in the Ballantyne area in 2024.  The new high school is situated on a 71-acre site in Ballantyne at the corners of Johnston Road and Community House Road. The new high school is expected to relieve over-crowding at Ardrey Kell High School in Ballantyne and South Mecklenburg and Myers Park High Schools in south Charlotte. Construction is 58% complete on the $146 million project. Opening is schedule for the 2024/2025 school year. The new Ballantyne high school will include 100 classroom, several athletic fields, academic buildings, auditorium for performing arts, and a full-sized football stadium.
