I see this on the Stats page on Active Rain and do not yet understand them. I would like to know what they are for.   Short URL Clicks.  The are on the page where we see the traffic that has come to our Blog Page.  All I ever see there is a dash (-).  It that important?  When I write a Blog, although I am not very good, I like to look then next time that I am on the Active Rain website and see if anyone has found what I wrote to be interesting or informative or laughable..   I know that I learn so much from reading the Post of other ActiveRain Members. Just past the city limits of Caswell Beach is the N.C. Baptist Assembly, a church camp/retreat conference center. Prior to its purchase from the government, the assembly was known as Fort Caswell, an Army fortress built in 1826. The remains of the fort can be found throughout the camp.         WE have the most beautiful sunset over Beaver Dam Creek in Southport NC. The Grandchildren came over and tried their luck at fishing.  As you can see...one small croaker will be on the menu tomorrow.. We enjoy the Ibis, Herons, Cranes, and gulls on the end of the dock.  We have kayaks in the water to scoot around in the creek.  What a glorious place to live. When we get tired of that, we go and walk on the ocean.  Our beaches are still undeserted and we can enjoy the shore with all of the living things that live there. This is a day for buyers to be all over the place trying to find the perfect place to settledown. Tomorrow, we are having an antique fair at the community building.  Folks will bring stuff out of the attic to see if they have an heirloom worth thousands.  It is so much fun to see the unique, antiques that we find in the most unlikely places..   Thar's Gold in them thar attics..LOL 11/11/2013

  Short Sales...love um' or hate um' Well...no one told us it would be easy.  Again, I find this out. WE have been working on a short sale since February and have just found out that the property does not appraise for the short sale price...Yep...that is right.  The Bank will not accept the amount of the appraised value so our deal is dead. Got another offer a bit higher but not at the price that the last appraisal came in for. What do you think is going to happen when I get another offer for the appraised value not?....I know..by the time the bank gets around to accepting the offer...the property will not appraise again.   Great Family day. We have had a wonderful day with the grandchildren.  Joshua and Marissa spent the day with us. Joshua is 7 and Marissa is now 5. Both have started school and  it seems like a smooth start.. You really have to be on your toes with little ones like these precious two. I fixed steak, potatoes, string beans, biscuits and apple for  dinner.  They would much preferred a Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich..   Great day being cowboys and Indians.   09/21/2013

  Finally Friday...and I am so Glad..   We find that upon waking this morning, that it feels like fall... High tide in the marsh,  butterflies flitting around the Lantana, Ibis and Gulls flying overhead.   Bees are a buzzing and making honey... Such a lovely site to behold.     Yesterday, my husband picked a bucket of grapes, so this morning I am cooking them to make the juice for the jelly. These are Muscadine Grapes, so the jelly will be a lovely color of purple.  They are so plentiful this year Traditionally, we put the grapes in a large square plastic box and let each of the grandchildren stomp them for a bit.  It is the best way to get all  of the juice out of the grapes.  Could not get them all together to do this ..this year but they got stomped anyway. After 2 hours of cooking...cooling and squeezing..we ended up with 24 half pints and 5 pints of this delicious grape jelly that we will give as gifts to special folks this year. Tonight, we will add sugar and cook and put in to sterilized jars.  What great fun..and the taste is wonderful..   Hope you... 09/03/2013

      As a young person, our family would watch TV on Saturday and Sunday evenings....Mama would pop ..popcorn and we would sit around and watch the Ed Sullivan Show.  We would see the new performers enter into the entertainment arena and say..that is never going to work. Today, my Mother would be 97 years old if she were still alive.  She was such a wonderful Mother and was a stay at home Mother for us all.  She would wake us up at 7:00 am with bacon, coffee, scrambled eggs, grits,  toast and  jelly.  We always had a great start to the day..   I remember Mama...and miss her so much..   Happy Birthday Mama...I know you are with me..   Ginger of Southport..       08/11/2013

  BPO's have been a source of income for a lot of us agents over the past 6 or 7 years.  It was a way to supplement our income in a lagging economy.  Now I am finding that there are less and less REO's and BPO's being offered in my area.  I am not sure as to why this is happening.  The BPO's that are being offered are at such a price that it is just not worth it if you have to pay an assistant and take into consideration the price of Gas.   Do you have any suggestions?  We the market is this slow during these times, we must , gingfall back on other means of survival..     Thanks for hints or tips on this.         06/07/2013

Today we are having a bit of rain..again.. Yes, the garden is growing well....but so are the weeds. Maybe the veggies can get a head start if we try to iliminate the weeds. The seeds are planted, peas, tomatoes, eggplant,  squash, cucumber  and peppers.  I can not wait to have a fresh tomato Sanswich with fresh white bread slathered with Helmans Mayo. Well we are about to the end of the Get Healthy in the Rain contest and I would like to share with you what it has done for me.   I started in the middle of January and weighed 20 pounds more than I do right now.   I still have a long way to go but I am on the right road. When we started, I was also challenged by a co-worker and I decided to take on the challenge.   Therefore, my assistant and I started working out at least 4 days and week and changed our eating habits.   I started writing down every thing that I eat on a site called "My Fitness Pal" and it was amazing.  I allowed my self 1200 calories a day.  When that was reached, I stopped eating. I started choosing more salads and fresh fruits and that has been just so very good. I feel healthier and happier.   Thanks for creating t... 03/31/2013

Spring...Oh Yes,,, Wonderful Spring. I am so glad that the sun is shining and the air is cool and fresh and the flowers are blooming...and the birds are singing. WE are having to keep the Bird Feeders Full.  We are filling them about every day.   This is my time of the year. I seem to bloom as the flowers do. Thank you Lord for them all. TGIF ...ONE of my Favorite days...Today is Friday. I always look  forward to this day. It is a time when I know I have a few days to breathe and enjoy my family.. We are so busy right now and when Friday rolls around...I am about to drop... I know that a lot of us can not do it...but the weekends are my family days. There are weekend that are certainly an exception..But there are some things that are more important than money..
