Exciting news came from Beaufort, NC last Thursday, when they successfully lifted two cannons from the shipwreck of the Queen Anne's Revenge out of the water. This was the first time in almost 300 years that they have seen the light of day. The Queens Anne Revenge was a French ship that was taken by the infamous Blackbeard the pirate. The ship was ran aground in 1718 near the Beaufort inlet. The wreck was discovered in 1996. Lots of artifacts that have been recover already are located at the North Carolina Maritime Museum in Beaufort, NC. For more information, click here. 6. The Beaufort Waterfront - One of my favorite things to do is walk the Beaufort Waterfront. The great thing about the Beaufort Waterfront is you can walk depending upon where you are staying, come by car, or come by boat. There are a variety of shops, restaurants, and night life establisments with live local entertainment or maybe even someone visiting. http://youtu.be/uH9nhi34CIA There are several festivals found on the Beaufort Waterfront depending upon the season, The Beaufort Music Festival, Pirate Invason, Art Festival and more (check the local calendars).  For more information check out this link:  http://www.tourbeaufort.com/beaufort-nc-activities-atlantic-beach-emerald-isle.htm     Walking and looking at the boats is so much fun.    What a beautiful weekend !! Hello Spring !  The weather is so inviting and many folks took advantage of getting out and shopping/ dining along the Beaufort Waterfront Saturday! The parking lots were just about full, streets lined with people on the boardwalk, pushing strollers, holding hands -- and simply enjoying the 70 something weather with a coastal breeze--just lovely! After showing my listing at 1909 Front Street to an interested party I slipped into an open space ordered a Chai Tea.. and soaked up a few minutes of sunshine myself along the docks. What a cool place, interesting people and oh yeah.. Great time to BUY Real Estate !!! Give me a call !   Michele 342 7066   Michele Connors, Broker   / Coldwell Banker First Realty  / Carteret and Craven County Realtor

Ok, sorry to get that song stuck in yur head but stay with me a moment.... The NC Wildlife Resource Commission and the town have come to a resolution regarding cutting or saving the aged old oaks at the public boat launch on Taylors Creek, along the west end of Front Street Beaufort NC.   This debate which has gone back and forth for many months has settled with what I consider a fair compromise. Work is underway for improving the site allowing for more manuverable space at the launch site and addressing storm water management.  Local reports covered the story which was  fueled from both sides of this environmental issue. In the end 9 of 14 old oaks were saved, and today as I drove by to observe the progress of the site I witnessed the yellow ribbons that marked the protected trees. The...

I located two Shackleford Wild Horses/Ponies on the horizon. Seems they too are out enjoying the warmer temperature today while grazing the soggy grass.
