Ayden to get $6M in fed grants   By Brock Letchworth The Daily Reflector Tuesday, August 12, 2008 Ayden Mayor Steve Tripp says the ship is turning for Ayden and the United States Department of Agriculture is at the helm. Tripp on Tuesday announced the town has been awarded $1.5 million in federal grants and a $4.47 million loan by the USDA to fund infrastructure improvements for the town's sewer system. The money is being used to purchase a $280,000 VAC-CON combination truck used for cleaning sewer lines, replace dilapidated sewer lines and extend lines for more growth, Town Manager Adam Mitchell said.
