" LITTLE WICHITA" IN The Ozarks As a transplant to Shell Knob from Indiana, I am fascinated by all the migrations we are blessed to observe in southwest Missouri - two legged, two winged, etc. Living on Table Rock Lake, spitting distance from Arkansas, we're on the cusp of the south - a dividing line. Much as it was in the civil war, Missouri mixes both sides of the country.Twice a year, spring and fall, in Shell Knob, we entertain birds coming and going - hummingbirds, ducks, geese, seagulls, vultures, and eagles - to name just a few (there are more than 40 species of birds here).
