After living on our horse farm for one year now, there will not be any going back to city living for me.  When I was much younger, 7...8, I really liked horses.  I collected the Breyer horses, horse sculptures, and had a rug with horses hanging on the wall.  I wish I had kept all that; I was young and thought it would be cool to put it all in a garage sale my parents were having.  Now I get to be around the real thing; 10 of them, as of right now, and twice a day/seven days a week.  It does several things for me each day; I get to enjoy fresh air and the outdoors, I get great exercise (lost 45 pounds in about the first six months), I get alone time to contemplate life, and I get to be around an animal I find to be truly amazing.  Owning a horse is a big responsibility.  It requires comm...

Last Saturday, Sept 15, 1p-4p, we had our booth at the Ozark MO Fest.  The event went well, despite the rain half way through.  People were able to sign up for a drawing for a stone with their last name carved on it, http://www.carvedrock.com/ , and for a $25 gift certificate to Cool Cow Custard.  We announced our winners yesterday.  When it started raining I ran home to pick up a tent that did not work so well; the best we were able to do was cover up our booth table with a tarp.  Our booth location was also unique in that we were in between two kid's inflatables (http://www.nixapartystation.com/ ), which help draw traffic to us.  We got to watch an army helicopter land and take off too; we had to hold everything down to keep everything from blowing away.  During the rain we hid under ...

Don't let your dreams slip away invest in Branson Today!  This virtually untouched real estate frontier is one of the last of its kind in the US. Branson Area: The Ozarks Regions has unsurpassed, unique, special beauty that cannot be found anywhere else in the world. Usually described as Mountains, the Ozarks actually consist of many different types of terrain; hills and hollows, forests and meadows, bluffs and valleys. This legendary beauty is presented in the gently rolling hillsides, mysterious caves, and clear lakes and streams. In the spring, the hills come to life with the blooms of redbud and dogwood trees. Wildflowers sprinkle the hills and also can be seen along the highways and secondary roads that wind slowly through the hills. Summers are filled with rich, green colors of de...

This is one of the many towns surrounding Springfield. The city of Ozark was first settled in 1833 along the banks of the Finley River.   Among the first businesses was a general store, doctors office, wagon and freight yard, and a blacksmith shop.In 1882, the railroad arrived. Along with it, came new businesses and new growth. After the Great Depression, the population began to dwindle.  In the past 20 years Ozark has become a wonderful suburb of Springfield.  Conveniently located between Springfield and Branson, new businesses are being established daily and new subdivisions continue to develop.  Christian County was established in 1859 and was named after Christian County, Kentucky. The Christian County Courthouse was built in 1860 on the north side of the square in Ozark.           ...

One of my first memories of Ozark is driving over the Finley River.  Ozark was first settled in 1883 along the banks of the Finley River when the first mill was built. The original bridge was long removed and the current bridge is in it's place. To read more about the history of Ozark, click here.    Further north of the Finley River Bridge is one of Southwest Missouri's oldest restaurants, Riverside Inn.  Many wedding receptions and community events have been held here since the original building was built.     The old mill closed down shortly after I moved here in the 80's.  Now owned by Bass Pro Shops, it sits quietly awaiting it's future. Here is a picture of the original bridge.       Visit my website at: www.kayvankampen.com

My market area is Springfield Missouri and surrounding areas.  Ozark Missouri is located minutes south of Springfield in Christian County.  Christian County covers approximately 564 square miles in Southwest Missouri and is bordered by Greene, Lawrence, Stone, Taney, Douglas and Webster Counties. Though Christian County is one of the fastest growing counties in the State of Missouri and is considered part of the Springfield Metropolitan Statistical Area (Greene, Christian, Dallas, Polk and Webster Counties), the southern part of the County is predominantly rural in character.  To search for homes in Christian County, visit my website at:  http://www.kayvankampen.com/
