If you are a buyer searching for real estate in Ozark, Mo., you missed out on a great open house today.  Like so many consumers, previewing a home is still a necessity.  You can gather details from the internet, yet without seeing the home, photos can be deceiving.  The home may be better than the photos.  Or bigger!  Or Smaller!  Without seeing the home in person, you can't fall in love with the setting or smell the roses And what about the beautiful Ozark square?  AHHHH!  You missed that too.  There are so many great reasons to live here.  The city park has walking trails, tennis courts, softball fields, rodeo grounds, playgrounds and great fishing sites.  The schools are Triple A rated.  New walking trails along the Finley River were built a few years ago and seem to be one of Ozark...

I had the privilege of interviewing Tom Bass recently.  I first met Tom in 2006 when he served with me on the Committee to Development a New Comprehensive Plan for the City of Ozark.  He impressed me with his straightforward common sense, and insightful ideas regarding future growth within the City of Ozark.  Shortly thereafter, he coached my son's baseball team through the Ozarks Parks Department.  Coaching a team of 10-year-old boys with little athletic coordination was no easy task, and quite frankly, we only won one game, but Tom led those boys with a sense of pride, and a great sense of humor, and made sure a good time and fun was had by all.  Tom also owns our local Farmers Insurance Agency, and I had referred a few clients to him for their homeowners insurance needs.  The feedba...

My sister in West Plains sent me these pictures of ice storm damage in their yard. Here in Ozark Missouri we only got about an inch of sleet and four inches of snow. More SE of here (West Plains and Northern Arkansas) they got at least an inch of ice! There are over 100,000 people without electricity. Hopefully with the crews working 24-7 they won't be out too long.  We had a similar storm in Springfield a couple of years ago and people were in the cold for weeks.               Search for real estate in Springfield Missouri

Most of us locals remember when Bumstead's opened in 2002.  It was the first of its kind in Ozark.  Located just outside the city limits on the outer road of Highway 65 between Highway CC and Highway 14, it was the first real restaurant/lounge where alcohol was served.  It was our own little Cheers, with its own homemade military contraption in front (who created this anyway?), to the funny little car mounted in the air at the entrance, the cartoonish helicopter on the roof, to the historic imported bar in the back room.  Until it suddenly closed in 2006.  In 2008, the previous owner tried to reopen it, but the magic was gone.       That's when Patrick Lee, owner of Lee Group Construction Management & Development from Branson came in the picture.  Patrick bought Bumstead's on December...

January 1 was the annual Polar Bear Fly for the Ozark Mountain Barnstormers RC airplane club. There were 19 or 20 flyers at the RC flying field from Ozark, Springfield, and Nixa.   The weather was a little cold and a bit breezy, but really not too bad for January. In between flying, the participants enjoyed hot chili, hot chocolate, and airplane stories.  The flying field is located on Cheyenne road between Ozark and Nixa. Visitors are welcome anytime the gate is open. Usually there are people flying anytime the weather is nice, especially on weekends. Wednesday evenings are for training new pilots and open flying.  For more information about the club visit their website: http://www.ozarkmountainbarnstormers.com/  If you are thinking about buying or selling a home in the Ozarks? Top 5 Myths About Selling Your Home in Ozark, Nixa, or Springfield Missouri.  Don't be confused by these "myth-understandings"!  Myth #1.   I should wait to sell my house because it's a buyer's market.  Truth: While the market has slowed down some, it isn't nearly as bad in our area like some parts of the country. A high proportion of the foreclosures are in four states: Arizona, California, Florida, and Nevada.  The fact is homes are selling in Ozark, Springfield, and Nixa if they are marketed correctly, clean and staged to sell, and priced correctly according to the neighborhood, square footage, age, and condition. We are still a growing area and people still need homes.  Myth #2.   I should list my home with a friend or relative that sells real estate. Truth: Just as my mother taugh...

Ozark Mo Real Estate, Ozark Mo Homes For Sale, Ozark Mo Homes I drove around Ozark today looking at the progress we have made to revitalize the City of Ozark. Many homes are now being torn down to make way for progress.....I guess I always thought progress was restoring and improving our community.  However, the City of Ozark has decided that those shabby, outdated communities near the square were too far gone to rehab.  In their place are plans for developing approximately 30 acres in the middle of town overlooking the Finley River. A few years ago the Missouri Department of Economic Development  received a "Best Practice" award from HUD for their funding support of the City of Ozark, Missouri downtown revitalization.  We now have new walking trails and the square has been revitalized ...

Saturday was the annual Hot Air Balloon Glow in the park at Ozark Missouri. This was a great event to support the Make a Wish Foundation. The balloons were awesome!  The balloons were tethered to the ground. I'm told the fuel to heat the balloons is invisible so they add a chemical to make them light up.  The kids and adults alike loved it and it's all to support a great cause.
