Harry Potter at the Screenland Armour Theatre in North Kansas City was brilliant! If you're a Harry Potter fan, you will enjoy the latest movie Harry Potter And The Deathly Hollows. I was very impressed with the Screenland Theatre. The Art Deco design is fabulous! The atmosphere is very relaxed and welcoming. The service is prompt and friendly. Yesterday, as I was driving to a client's closing in North Kansas City, I was running early. This pleased me as it had been a hectic day. What pleased me more was that I had time to stop at a little Pastry Shop. The sign outside has intrigued me for a long time. It says "homemade cupcakes" - and it's a homemade sign. Little bitty place.  -Remember what they say about big things coming in small packages? This is Martha Uhl, owner of Wally's Pastry Shop at 3855 N Oak Traffic way in Kansas City, MO. 64116 Martha proudly displays some of the cupcakes made by her son, Manfred Uhl, the artist. And what an artist he is! The frog and the bear cupcakes are made from sugar and food coloring; not plastic. It’s true our property at 5230 N Manchester our first endeavor into the real estate market of North Kansas City is currently pending.  We received a full price offer on this property after only 8 days on market.  Granted the sale has not closed yet but things are looking promising. When this property does close it will be the second quickest flip Vizion has ever completed.  Only one day behind the 7 day flip of 8205 Kenwood.  Naturally our acquisitions team is hard at work scouring the Northland for deals. Things are moving along smoothly on Project North KC.  At this crews current pace the renovation should be done sometime next week.  Some of you may remember that this was the house with many holes. Our new assistant Abbey took these pictures.  Maybe one of these days we’ll get her on ActiveRain and maybe even on Twitter. The bathroom has been set and all the tile work has been completed.  It looks like on this house our contractor has decided to go with a lighter shade of tile. The kitchen is nearly complete.  This is the lightest granite we’ve ever used on one of our home renovations.  I think it plays well off of the lighter backsplash. Initially the Staph Infection started out in Kansas, but it didn't take it long to jump the river and hit the Northland.Wednesday a Fox Hill Elementary student was confirmed with having the staph infection.North Kansas City school officials say the most recent case poses little threat and the student has been allowed to keep attending school.Methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus, or MRSA can be life threatening.  The biggest preventative is to WASH YOUR HANDS!

I've written previously about Antioch Shopping Center and how it was dying a miserable death.Well now they have a new and smaller budget to cover the cost of re-developing my old stomping grounds.The new budget has been approved by the Kansas City Tax Increment Finance Commission.The total cost of the project is now estimate at $72 million vs. $82 millionThe size of Antioch Center is going to be reduced by 55,000 square feet.  Sears will stay in it's current location and they will tear down the rest of the mall around Sears and rebuild it.The area will be reborn and things should start thriving again once the project is done.If you'd like to look at any Kansas City Real Estateby Antioch, please be sure and get ahold of me!

You've heard of the term "milking it for all it's worth"   That's definitely not the case at Shatto Farms...Dairy Farming hasn't been a big money maker for cow milkers in this area because they had to sell it to a dairy co-op.  Diary farmers sell milk by weight and 100 pounds is about 11.5 gallons. For example, Leroy Shatto was making about $10.80 a hundred for his milk and it was costing him $11.00-$11.25 a hundred to produce it. The North Kansas City School District received good news last week that the district's test scores on the National ACT and Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) have gone up.Their MAP scores outperform the state average in nearly every category measured.Their ACT scores exceed state and national averages.This was good news for the district since they were previously placed on the "No Child Left Behind" watch list.
