The Branson Landing is now open for business and has been for quite sometime. They are working hard on the new Convention Center as well. The Christmas lights are more beautiful every year. We have seen a very stable market this year and I will be looking forwar to the Cooper report this year end they provide a good assesment on the area as a whole. An American tradition since 1891, several organizations in our community got together to help serve the Salvation Army Red Kettle program. In just ONE day, volunteers raised $14,239.43! Needless to say, we have a lot of generous residents and visitors in Branson, Missouri. The Salvation Army provides residential services, disaster relief, holiday assistance, medical facilities, and family and career counseling. More than 30 million people a year are aided by The Salvation Army. If you would like to become a volunteer this season, please contact me for further information. 12/19/2006

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of presenting a check in the amount of $1,000 to Joan Westfall, Director of C.A.M. (Christian Action Ministries). C.A.M. represents an alliance between several area churches, business leaders and local residents to help those in need in emergency situations. C.A.M. relies solely on the generosity of members in the community to enable their services to continue. It was a cold night, but still a lot of fun. I'd never driven a float through a parade before. Afterwards we hauled it down the 76 Strip in full animation. It was so fun to drive! Then towards the end of the night, I thought about taking it out on Highway 65, doing about 70 mph, but alas, had to return the truck. The Branson West Rotary Club is going to borrow it for their parade this weekend. 12/07/2006

This weekend I was selected for the Rookie of the Year Award by the Tri-Lakes Board of Realtors! The award is eligible for real estate agents who have joined the Board within a two year period. I was nominated for the award for my number of achievements in just ten months! This is an award that isn't given every year, and only to newer members that have earned it.    12/04/2006

Gerken & Associates donated their time in revolving shifts to CAM (Christian Action Ministries) for the 18th Annual Holiday Food Harvest. The annual food drive was set up at the Jubilee Foods grocery store located on Highway 76 to help meet the needs for area citizens in need. Dick Clark's American Bandstand theater loaned a classic car to help deliver the donated food and items. By the end of the day, over three truck loads were donated, making it the most successful food drive ever! 11/24/2006
