Single Family Homes April 2008 Edina real estate market continues to slowly wake up this spring. April weather in our area was finicky. Temperatures below average, rain and even some snow (mostly in western and northwestern Minnesota, those areas received 6-12 inches!). Since weekends are usually the time when most people shop for homes, the weather halted that activity a couple of times. As you see, there are many homes that have been on the market for months now. The total market time of currently active listings ranges from 3 days to whaping 777 days, and the average is 160 days on the market. Again, home owners whose homes are currently on the market are seeing an increased showing activity. Our appointment center is noting a significantly higher appointment call volume. Currently a...

Crave Restaurant in Edina, Minnesota is featuring live Jazz every Friday evening, at 8:30 p.m. You'll see Jazz pianist Laura Caviani, with guest artists like Debbie Duncan, Patty Peterson and Dorothy Doring performing live at the popular Edina nightclub.  The Laura Caviani Trio has maintained a weekly presence at Crave since the beginning of the year.  In February, I saw the Trio (Laura Caviani on keyboard, Tom Lewis on bass and Phil Hey on drums) at Crave with blues stylist Debbie Duncan.  Debbie and the Trio delivered their usual powerhouse performance of jazz and blues tunes, including "Blame it on My Youth", "Blue Skies", "Our Love is Here to Stay", "I'm Beginning to See the Light" and "If I Were a Bell, I'd be Ringing (sung by guest vocalist Nancy Harms).  Crave is a little crowded...

Thanks to the Edina Housing Foundation (EHF), you can purchase a home with just $1,000 cash out of pocket. This program was designed as an incentive for young lower income families to move into the city after the 2000 census identified that over 25% of Edina homeowners are over 65 years of age. This is a second mortgage program that works in conjunction with the first mortgage. You may borrow up to $60,000. The loan officer will determine the maximum amount you can qualify for. There are income and asset restrictions. For example, a single individual's maximum income should be $55,000, or less; a family of 2-4 should have a total household income of $63,000, or less.  So, what's available in Edina for under $325,000? 35 single family homes,  2 under $200,000   6 townhomes,              ...

Did you know that the average person knows more than 250 people?  That means that if you know 250 people and all those people know 250 people you have access to 62,500 people!  You need to get out of the real estate business and get into the lead generation business (I'm not talkin the pay per lead...lead generation business).  You should be thinking lead generation all the time.  How many of those 62,500 need to buy or sell in the next 365 days for you to consider it a great year? What a great game last night!  Shootouts, Overtime - Edina Wins!!! Edina 4, Burnsville 3   (Details from the STARTRIBUNE) The blood dripping down Anders Lee's nose after the game at Mariucci Arena suggested the kind of battle the Hornets had with the Blaze before knocking it off in overtime. Truth is, however, one of Lee's teammates drew blood in the postgame celebration after Lee's goal gave the Hornets the Class 2A Section 2 title and a trip to the state tournament.See the rest of the story...http://www.startribune.com/sports/preps/16060267.html

This afternoon, my family and I spent some fun time out on the ice at Centennial Lakes Park!Centennial Lakes Park features a 10-acre lake that is groomed daily during the winter for ice skating. Spread out over three main ponds connected by narrow, meandering canals, the rink gives skaters a unique skating experience reminiscent of a Currier & Ives setting from bygone days.Complementing the rink is a cozy, rink-side warming house, complete with indoor and outdoor fireplaces, restrooms, concessions and skate rental. Concession items include hot chocolate, pop, popcorn, hot dogs, chips and candy. Skate rental is available for $4 per pair, with sizes ranging from children's Size 8 up to adult Size 13. Ice sleds may also be rented for $6 per hour. A photo identification must be given as a d...
