Recently I was out on an environmental consultation and asked to evaluate for potential moisture intrustion and mold. I have been performing these type of consultation services for years so I was happy to assit this client. What I found was a musty odor and moisture intrusion in the lower level of this lakshore cabin property. To complicate matters the dwelling was an "Earth Home" type with a wood foundation and waterproofing was failing. The air samples and lab report confirmned the presence of an extremely elevated mold spore condition. I recently inspected a 40 year old Rambler type home and encountered a situation where the attic access was located through a small removable access panel in the ceiling of a closet. While this is commonplace in these types of homes, the hard part is that often times the closet is packed full of clothes and other personal affects. I'm not a big fan of moving peoples clothes and personal items. In fact, our policy is that we don't move anything because of liability concerns and because it puts us in an everything or nothing situation whereas people may ask, "well you moved stuff in the closet so why didn't you move the stuff from under the sinks" or, "Why didn't you move the stuff off the shelves in the utility room to see the walls." With this ever changing market and the tightening of guidelines to try and protect lenders from foreclosure doom Mortgage Insurance Companies are raising premiums too.  What used to only take a 620 credit score to get reduced MIP is now needing a 660.  It can affect your payment by over $100 more per month.  The insurance companies are not liking having to pay out in these foreclosures either and even if the client is approved if they do not have the higher credit score and their loan to value is above 97% they are going to pay.  Vicky Hanson:  Mortgage Banker with Minnesota Lending Co.   11/13/2007

Homeowners in the new Blaine Haven community will be within walking distance to Madison Elementary School.  Madison Elementary is Kindergarten through grade 5.   The school is just down the street from the new Blaine Haven development!   I've included a link (see links section) to the school so you can get a better idea of what the school has to offer.      Madison Elementary is located on Territorial between Jackson & Jefferson (on 10 acres).  Blaine Haven is closest to the Jackson side.  There is a large sports field area (see below) between Jackson & the school. Students attending Madison Elementary would go to Northdale Middle School and then onto Blaine High School.  There are also private schools available for the area, which I'd be happy to provide more information on if anyone n... 09/10/2007
