I have been hearing about a new Movie about Noah. Have not seen any of the trailers yet, but friends who have are not impressed. But it did make me thing about this cartoon I saw a long time ago. With all the complaining about the weather and such I thought a smile to start the day was in order.

Many people have the entire week off.  Others just a few days.  So, what to do to fill in the time. For those looking to buy recreational land, now is a great time to look. Although we had a lot of snow, it has packed down to a small amount.  Now is a good time to walk the land and be able to really see everything.  The snow cover makes it easier to see longer distances in the woods. Now is also a good time to get a better price.  Some sellers still NEED to sell and others do not. Spring will be here soon...get on this before the competition makes you pay more.

I was having problems today before I headed to the office.  My computer is on the blink ...AGAIN! If it were not for the MLS on the web, I would have saved the $1000 and stayed with my note pad and pen. A friend was trying to tell me some things to try over the phone.  Most of the time i had NO idea of what he was talking about. So, I am going to break down and hire my neighbor to teach me.  He is in 1st grade.  Hopeful he doesn't move to fast for me! Now we are talking jargon I can understand!!!!

Depends on where you go and what you do.  A senior is either 55, or 62 or not until you are 65.  I took a free class on aging so i may be able to relate more to the 'OLDER' than myself population. It was very infomrative.  I found out that I don't think I want to grow real old. I think the best thing I got out of the class was the Senility Prayer. Grant me the Senility to forget the people I never liked anyway. The good fortune to Run into the people that I do...andThe eye sight to tell the difference. Be kind to the older population and call someone you care about today!

I hope you enjoy the follow photo's of 'Politicians in Training'. That is the way I view these people...NO COMMON SENSE! I would never crawl under with just a jack, but rocks! Ok, could I have just one more tiny stick. Ok, I trust most people a lot, but this is even past me. Finally... Even on a dare this is a real stupid idea. There you have it.  If these people hurry, they could still get elected this coming year!

I realize that the woods are thick with leaves and also bugs.  But, now IS the time to start your search. There are a lot of thinks to consider when making this purchase. 1) Are you using this property only for hunting.2) Are you buying the property on your own or with partners.3) Will you construct a shelter and do you need power.4) What area are you thinking.5) Is the area you are thinking conducive to good hunting for the game you are pursuing. Once you answer these questions, then you move to the next ones. 1) How am I going to pay for this property.2) Do I have enough down payment that will be required.3) Should I go to the bank for the loan.4) Should I consider owner financing and the short falls that go with it. Next, If you don't have a particular property in mind, but you know ...

I have been feeling on top of the world.  Met some new people and heard a few new jokes.  I loved this one... Two cannibals met one day... "You know, I just can't seam to get a tender missionary these days.  I have baked, roasted, and stewed.  I even tried to marinade them and at last ditch effort i even BBQ'd one." "Where did you get them?" asked the second one. "Down by the bend in the river where they always show up. They have a funny brown cloak with a rope around their waist and a funny ring around the top of their bald heads." The second cannibal started to chuckle..."Well no wonder...those are friars!"

This happened at a local chamber meeting.  The treasurer reported that there was a deficit of $200. Some talk endued about what to do about the shortfall.  Now, every group seams to have someone who has all the answers. "I vote that we give half to the Red Cross and the other $50 to the Salvation Army. Now, isn't this the guy you want in charge of your tax dollar?

If you are thinking about buying some recreational land, and even land to build on...NOW is the time.   Many sellers are willing to do short term contract for deed. What this will do is get you into a property with less down that the bank wants down.  It will allow you to purchase the choice property before the prices go up along with interest rates. In just a few weeks the snow cover will be less and it will be time to look at the wooded parcels before the leaves hide all the terrain. Don't be one of the group that says..."I wish I would have done this sooner!"

I received this funny from a friend and it brought back memories of wanting to be older.  That was Many Many years ago!   Little Johnny and his brother were talking early one morning.  His older brother said..."I think it is time for me to talk and act like the grown ups.  "What are going to say," asked Johnny. "I am going to say 'Hell', The brother said. So down to the breakfast table they went.  Sitting a the table, mom asked the older brother what he wanted for breakfast...."Oh Hell, I will just have some Cheerios." he said. Well, Mom did not take kindly to that remark and knocked him right off his chair.  Crying, he ran up to his room. "So, what would you like for breakfast Johnny?" asked mom. Johnny thought for a while.." I'm no sure, but you can bet your Sweet Ass it won't be Chee...

Minnesota's Firearm Deer Season has come to a close, but it is not totally done yet.  There are several others still going through he end of the year. With a bit of snow on the ground, now is a great time to check out the new hunting area you spotted this past season.   It can also be a good time to ask permission for hunting so you can start to plan for next falls season. It is also a great time to check out land you want to buy.  We have a thin snow cover which makes seeing the landscape much easier.  High and low points show up easily and you don't have to cover every single foot to know the lay of the land.  With the winter season over coming us, now is a good time to be searching for a deal.  Not to much bare land will be moving and buyers who want to sell will be considering offer...

I was in the local coffee shop today and heard a patron say... "I was sitting up in my tree and here came a deer.  The brush was just to thick for me to shoot my bow, and THEN! I see this guy all dressed in brown!  If I had been gun hunting, he would have been dead. First one problem...The hunter needs to make sure of his or her quarry.   The second is, there are a lot of people out in the woods right now for many reasons.  Going for a walk, looking at the land to buy are 2 of the biggest ones. Do yourself a favor...wear bright colored clothes.  Don't take it for granted that the hunter will be able to tell you apart from a deer or other game animal. A little forethought could save your life or the life of a loved one!

There is a lot to consider where buying a piece of recreational property.  It does not matter if it is ll woods, all open or on the water.  There are questions you need to ask yourself. Who is this land primarily for?  You for hunting and or fishing. Off roading or hiking. Will there be family involved.  How about extended family.  Who will own this property? Will this be sole ownership of with other family and or friends. How will decisions be made on it's use. How much work are you planning on having to do.  Recreational property can involve a lot of work.  Cabins need as much upkeep as your home.  If you don't like working on your home...Why do you think you can do all the maintenance on a cabin. Finances.   Besides buying the property...there is the upkeep and improvements.  You nee...

In 4 weeks some of the big game seasons open.  Bear and Archery for Deer to name just two of the most popular.  If you still have not purchased that hunting land...time is running out.   If you are more of a Firearms Deer hunter, you have a bit more time to go.  there are some great deals on some prime hunting parcels in the Northern Pine and Southern Carlton county area. More and more sellers are agreeing to Contract for Deeds.  This allows you to purchase that land with less down than going to your local bank. Prices on land are down...but dont' wait to long!!   If this is what you desire this fall, Call me now!!!! ***A special thanks to My Broker, Bill Feela for the use of this photo!

Unexpected things in life can be good or they can be bad.  When small children are around, this is amplified.  But, leave it to kids to see past what horrifies us.  A lady was driving in town with her 3 small children.  She stopped at a stop light and to her Horror, the young lady in the convertible in front of her, stood up and turned around waiving.  She was stark naked! The horror hit her because of the 3 kids in back, but before whe could distract them, the 5 year old spoke up... "Hey Mom...Look, that lady isn't wearing a seat belt!" To bad us adults didn't view the world so simply!
