On Saturday, February 10, the Alexandria Sertoma Club hosted their annual Ice Fishing Challenge on Lake Le Homme Dieu in Alexandria, MN. Four thousand holes were drilled in the ice, with the lake open for selecting your hole of choice at 8:00 AM that morning and the first line dropped in at 12:00 noon. Just after that, the RE/MAX hot air balloon sailed overhead and I was privileged to ride in it! It was windy and cold on the ice, but in the balloon, you could feel no wind and the sun was shining! It felt warm!! What a thrill to quietly rise to about 1500' and see the sites from above. I saw friends' homes, properties I had listed and sold, a bald eagle on the hunt, deer running through the forest and people stopping their cars along the road to watch us fly over, as a hot air balloon is...
