When you are as busy being a buyer’s agent primarily as I am, there is little time to “dink around”.    I had a bank-owned property that I was “baby-sittting” nearly all summer while the asset management company and friends “dinked around” and waited until October to let me list it.    Thirty-four reports later, rekeying, turning on all the utilities, getting estimates for repairs, fielding questions from here and there, while trying to manage my buyers was far too much for me.   I had a great buyer for the property waiting in the wings.  But, I cut them loose….the asset management company that is.   And, I have fired two others, too.    Why don’t they listen to us?   I told them back in June that the home was abandoned.  Six weeks tops and the property was theirs.    But, they lollygag... 10/26/2012

I recently had an experience with Ron’s dog, Ranger, that brought home how important it is to have compassionate and knowledgeable veterinarians in the area.    Those of you who read Ron’s blog posts know that his Ranger had passed on, but what you don’t know, and he is still not quite ready to talk about was Ranger’s last hours.    Ranger likely had a stroke, according to Dr. Lisa Sell, the owner and at present the only veterinarian on staff of Best Friends Vet Clinic in Albertville Minnesota.    And, that might be the only comfort Ron has….that Ranger was not actually suffering at the end, but it didn’t make his last trip in the van any easier for any of us.    Between Dr. Sell, and, Julie Evenson, Ranger’s last few minutes on this plane were as comfortable as they could make them.   ... 06/22/2012

Albertville Minnesota has six City Parks.  That is six, folks.  Tell me how unusual that is for a town with a population of about 6,000 residents.  Albertville is hosting its third annual “Explore Your Parks Night”  this Friday, May 18, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m.  You can visit any one of the six parks: Winter, Linwood, Oakside, Four Seasons, Villas and Westwind.
