Mid coast Maine vacations mean boat rides and sightseeing to collect more Maine lighthouse images!Mid coast Maine is loaded with coastal fun if you are looking for a vacation destination. Maine is a small population, large land mass and offering boatloads of waterfront eye candy experiences. And so affordable and down to Earth easy. No hassle.Maine is called Vacationland for a very good reason and social distancing is easy when you can avoid the crowds.Living in Maine makes accessing the many areas of this big state much easier. We were country before it was cool, living simple and green before a color was attached to the lifestyle. And social distancing before it was the best way to help curb the COVID19 pandemic virus.Last weekend took a couple days to unplug and recharge and mid coas...

One of the special things about living in New Hampshire is the abundance of choices for vacation destinations and quick get aways. With the price of fuel being on every ones mind and affecting everything we do, it's nice to know that somethings don't have to break the bank to enjoy. The nice thing about living here is that it is a paradise for "close to home" vacations. Whether you stay in a hotel or prefer to camp you won't be disappointed. Recently Jay and I spent the long 4th of July weekend up in Boothbay Harbor Maine. From our home in Southern NH it is a 2.5 to 3 hour ride and is just a great place to enjoy quality time. Plus being connected as we are, we were able to work, negotiate contracts and keep in touch with our clients all while enjoy a great long weekend away. It's like ...

Last Wednesday, I got a mid-week break from work to take a 5-hour sail aboard one of the Windjammers on display in Boothbay Harbor for the town's annual Windjammer Days festival.  Each year, the town organizes the festival, which includes sailing, a parade, food and games for kids, along with some private receptions and parties put on by various local groups.  I was there with my boyfriend, who works on our Senator Susan Collins' campaign staff.  That morning, he picked me up with Mister Bagel and a coffee in hand (if you visit Portland, go there for breakfast - I'm addicted), and we headed up Rte. 1.  When we got to Boothbay (about an hour from Portland), we met Dawn Gilbert, owner of the Heads of the Harbor hair salon, and the Lincoln County chair for the campaign, and headed down t...

Normally Maine is a weekend destination for our mini-vacations but most of the time we avoid the tourist attractions and relax on our lake.  For a change of pace we decided to spend the day at Boothbay.  In addition to poking around in little shops or having lunch there are a number of water activities.Kayak rentals are available, various fishing charters are based out of the harbor and there are plenty of scenic cruises.  Since the day was a little on the cool side for mid August we choose to spend a few hours on Cap's Combo.Boothbay Harbor is both a tourist destination and a working port so we saw plenty of Lobster Boats mixed in among the pleasure vessels.  Lobster enthusiasts can even go out on a Trap Hauling trip that lasts just over an hour.  Other short cruises include Whale Wat...

A perfect July day for kayaking Linekin Bay in East Boothbay Maine. While on a 4th of July camping trip to Boothbay Harbor Maine, we decided to do some kayaking.Jay and I set out at about 10:30 in the morning with a goal of reaching Ocean Point and then paddling back to our put in at the Murray Hill boat launch in East Boothbay. High tide was at 1:31 pm and we knew we'd be able to get in a few hours of easy paddling. Neither one of us had dipped our paddle in water since last summer!  I think we're classic fair weather paddlers.Read more here...  Kayaking Boothbay Harbor                                                       Monika McGillicuddy,REALTORServing Southern New Hampshire and Rockingham County Monika McGillicuddy Real Estate Training NewHampshireRealEstateBlog.com Prudential Ver...

Boothbay Harbor Maine has long been considered the ideal Maine vacation destination. The peninsula is rich in history, an artist delight, and has a robust year-round community. Boothbay Harbors location just  under 3 hours from the border of New Hampshire makes it a hop skip and jump away for a quick weekend get away. There's much to see and do in Boothbay, shopping, golfing, boating, enjoying fresh lobsters and steamers to name a few. Boothbay is a quaint village with streets lined with boutiques, old buildings and a picture perfect harbor filled with lobster boats, pleasure crafts of all types, and windjammers. Rocky shores, island lighthouses, peaceful coves and warm and friendly people who call this home...all welcome you for a visit.  We love Boothbay and probably visit twice a yea...
