Disintegrating Cinder Blocks I took my Buyer client to look at a house and we found a serious case of disintegrating cinder blocks.  The blocks were turning into dirt.The design of the house is a two level split foyer built in the mid 1980s.The lower level is about 3 to 4 feet below grade.My understanding of the particular lot is that water does not drain very quickly after a heavy rain.The lower level has a footing drain and 2 sump pumps.  I do not know if this was put in when the house was built or after the original construction.Other than the disintegrating cinder blocks, there were no telling signs of a major foundation problem at the time of our visit.There were obvious signs that the lower level had been finished at one time, but all of that had been removed.  In other words, we ... 01/07/2022
