Leisure World of Maryland - FIRESIDE FORUM 2007-2008 Programs            The FIRESIDE FORUM in Leisure World of Maryland is a Non-Profit Tax-Exempt Organization made up of some 40+ organizations in Leisure World.  The purpose of which is to plan and conduct a series of once a month Sunday evening or afternoon programs centered in the fields of culture, education and public affairs.  This practice has been going on since November of 1967, and this year the 40 such year, they have put together another fine list of presenters.            The series this year starts off - Memories of a Foreign Service Officer presented by Malcom Lawrence a Former Senior U.S. Foreign Services Officer; on Sunday Sept 9 at 7:30 PM.            October 8, 2007 at 7:30 PM the series continues with - Celebrating 6... 09/07/2007

Forget the Inter County Connector (ICC) and its construction plans, Railroad tracks are currently being put down in Leisure World of Maryland. Now that I have your attention, the truth is that the recently formed Model Train Club in Leisure World of Maryland is building their layout in the basement of Clubhouse II.   They have spent many an hour planning this operation and now it is starting to come together. The Model Train Club is just one of the over seventy such club / organizations in Leisure World of Maryland to keep you active and challenged.  You name it and if several others are interested in doing it, the odds are high that a club / organizations to support it already exist. 08/16/2007

In a previous post I told you about the Echoes of Broadway group holding auditions for their upcoming production of "South Pacific".  Well that has been done, the cast selected, practices held, and tickets are going on sale Aug 13.The production can be seen in the Leisure World of Maryland's Clubhouse II Theatre starting at 7:00 PM on Friday Aug 31, again at 7:00 PM on Saturday of that weekend and Sunday September 2 at 2:00 PM.  There will be another matinee at 2:00 PM on Labor Day September 3 at 2:00PM.  The crew will take a short break and do it again the following weekend; starting again at 7:00 PM on Friday, then 7:00 PM on Sunday, and the final presentation in Leisure World at 2:00 PM on Sunday September 9th.This will be a first for the group too.  While other productions have had ... 08/12/2007
