Snow Road-eo ResultsFirst-place winners Andrew Rosencrantz and Mark Smith with Public Works Operations Division Chief Mark ScafideIt’s not too early to think about snow. In fact, our snow removal crews have already been honing their skills, engaging in a friendly Snow Road-eo competition. Ten teams, each consisting of a snow plow driver and a navigator, competed in a timed obstacle course where they negotiated their way through eight stations along a plotted route.Congrats to first-place winners Mark Smith and Andrew Rosencrantz (fourth year in a row), second-place winners Jon Burgess and Bobby Cox, and third-place winners Cliff Holmes and Jamie Johnson. Chef Dolores made the cookies and they are delicious. They were baked just in time to serve a visitor. Gaithersburg Community Survey ResultsIn a recent random survey of City residents, 86% of respondents described Gaithersburg as an “excellent” or “good” place to live, with high marks also given for the quality of the City’s parks and recreational programs/facilities, recycling, yard waste and bulk pickup collection, customer service, City buildings and facilities, and police services.The survey, available in both English and Spanish, was sent to 3,000 randomly selected households with 401 surveys (13%) returned. The City rated above the U.S. average in 45 of 51 areas. Gaithersburg Winter Lights Festival Tickets On Sale NowTickets are now on sale for the Winter Lights Festival.
