Volunteers Needed to Work with Victims of Sexual Assault Volunteers are needed to assist sexual assault victims and their families through Montgomery County’s Victim Assistance and Sexual Assault Program (VASAP), part of the County’s Department of Health and Human Services. Interviews are currently being conducted for the 2023 winter training session.VASAP outreach volunteers donate their time serving victims of sexual assault and domestic violence. Volunteers provide 24-hour crisis counseling and companion services at County hospitals and police stations for victims of rape, sexual assault and domestic violence. Learning about ED&C ProceduresThe Physician's Assistant for Dr. Stephen J. Krivda at Montgomery Dermatology Associates called to tell me about the results of a recent biopsy. He advised that I had a squamous cell carcinoma that needed to be removed from the front part of the top of my head. He then asked if I was familiar with electrodesiccation and curettage procedures. I was not familiar with the procedure but agreed to a Friday morning appointment for the removal.  After the ED&C procedure, Dr. Krivda advised that all went well and I was fine until the next appointment scheduled in April. A Difficult Week for Dolores KelleyIf you follow me on Facebook, you already know that my wife, Dolores, lost her balance and fell at home last Sunday night. She could not get up and the situation was compounded when I passed out while trying to assist her. I called my sister, a nurse, for help and she accompanied Dolores in the ambulance to the hospital. I still have balance issues after my incident of vertigo that put me in the hospital at the end of November.Dolores had hip replacement surgery on Tuesday. Last night, she was transferred from the hospital to ProMedica in Potomac, Maryland for rehabilitation.
