Bel Air, Md - Lanette Branch, Realtor How well does your Bel Air, Maryland home show? Or, a better question might be - does it show at all? Of the 413 homes currently for sale in Bel Air, Maryland; 26% have only one picture showing on the MLS. A ridiculous 2% have absolutely no picture at all. Not one. Nada. Zilch.   How is it possible to effectively market a home with no photos of the home? In this day of instant everything and information overload, how exactly does one sell a home with no photos? The basic element of any marketing plan surely consists of quality photos, and lots of ‘em. Seriously, am I missing something here?   Why would a listing agent not showcase her listing with as many pictures as possible? I don't know the answer to that question, but I do know that it just make...

I really enjoyed this article I found in the "Cecil Whig", it just goes to how you, it is a duty of an agent to eduacte the buyer or seller about the homebuyer/homeseller process. Here goes: Sellers must usually tell buyers about a home's defects, but that doesn't erase the need for the buyer to hire a professional inspector.Dear Mr. Myers: I disagree with some advice you recently provided about the need to hire a home inspector. The law clearly states that a seller must voluntarily disclose any problems with his home to a buyer, so hiring a home inspector is an unnecessary expense. Further, if the seller does not disclose any problems, the buyer can always file a lawsuit if a problem is discovered later. So please stop encouraging your readers to waste money on home inspectors!ANSWER: ...

I am not a tree hugger, I do not protest the development in the largely rural area where I live, but I would never introduce pesticides or hormones knowingly into my children. I am sure you would not either. It is a serious disservice what the FDA is doing by not publicizing more what goes into the food we eat. My goal is in the next few years, to be totally organic. No, I am not talking about buying the "so called" organic foods from my local grocery store. I am talking growing my own fruits and veggies, and raising my own beef and chicken. Now, do not get me wrong, I love a burger from McDonald's now and then. Or shall I say I used to? Then I read up on the practiced they use to process their beef and how inhumane this was. Not to mention I never knew the beef, poultry, and pork I was...

What can you get for half a million dollars in Maryland's northeastern, Harford County, Town of Bel Air? With so much going on around the country, real estate-wise, it's a great question to ask.  Afterall, one wouldn't expect to get quite as much house in a bigger city vs. the laid-back town of Bel Air, Maryland-right? Good news is you'd be able to get a lot for your money, relatively speaking. How about a New Build on a lot size just shy of ½ acre? With... Four bedrooms, 2 and ½ bathrooms, Front-load, 2-car garage, Partially finished lower level including a 26X12 rec room, Approximately 2700 square feet of living space*, 2-story foyer, Gas fireplace, Hardwood floors, And Dual-zoned heating? It's coming soon. It's my very favorite. It always happens on the first Saturday in March. Please don't miss it......especially if you're a chocoholic. It's the Bel Air Chocolate Festival held at the Bel Air Armory on Main Street in downtown Bel Air, Maryland and it's the place to be on Saturday, March 3rd from 9 to 4. Mark your calendars. All kinds of chocolate creations from confections and candy to desserts will be featured, and the local folks that create these masterpieces will be there, too. Bring $5 for admission and you'll get five tastes of the many treats available.I'm still on my chocolate high from V-Day.  I guess that's why this festival always comes in March.Ooooh, so many choices, so little time! Respectfully submitted,Lanette Branch, REALTOR I'm sold on Bel Air and I'd lik...

There's a new kid in town and he's all dressed up and ready to party. The Town of Bel Air has just completed renovations to the Bel Air Armory on Main Street. And the Armory now hosts a brand spanking new Visitors' Center. The official opening is scheduled for Saturday, February 17th from 11 to 3 when the Armory will hold an Open House for the general public. Lots of goodies are scheduled like a slide show highlighting Bel Air's regional attractions, a display featuring historical Main Street photos, and refreshments for Open House attendees.Bel Air obtained the Armory from the National Guard last year with the intention of transforming it into a community "hub", and, because of its central location in downtown Bel Air, it appears to have been a smart move; it's already booked through t...

Kimmie's at it again. Bel Air's own, Kimmie Meissner, won the Ladies competition at the ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships in Colorado Springs, Colorado this past week. While it's no surprise that the extraordinary Olympian* teenager won yet another ice skating championship, how she did it is remarkable indeed. You see, Kimmie was in sixth place before the final round. She had some difficulty with completing her short program, falling along the way. Fortunately for her, and all her many fans here in Bel Air, Maryland and around the world, the final round was her best. It was the long program, her favorite, and Kimmie nailed it! Her virtually flawless performance this past Saturday helped her edge past Emily Hughes who came in second place.Just two weeks ago, Kimmie took the...
