How to Buy Real Estate in Mt Washington   Mt Washington has many niches within it's actual borders. If you are looking to buy real estate in Mt Washington, it really helps to use a realtor who is familiar with all the nooks and crannies.   Let's say you had kids and wanted a super friendly area where the kids played in the street, and lived close enough where they and you felt comfortable going house to house to play. Sorta retro 1960's. Then check out Everton, Brambleton, Rockspring, Oakshire, Ridgedale, and Carterdale.     If walkability was high on your list, then living on the north easternmost area of Mt Washington would be great. You could easily walk to The Village of Mt Washington Light Rail, Whole Foods, Starbucks, The Mt Washington Tavern, and many local shops, restaurants a...

Why Mt Washington is the coolest neighborhood in Baltimore.   History: The history of Mt Washington was a summer getaway for affluent folks of Washington DC. Around 1900, people who could afford to leave DC in the hot humid summers did. Travel wasn't like it is today, yet Baltimore was close enough by train.   Homes: Initially large victorian, but ultimately a mix of colonials, bungalows, dutch colonials, 4 squares, cape cods, arts and crafts, to mid century modern.       Some are very large on many acres of land to tiny cottages, detached homes, to duplexes, to condos, to apartment houses. The larger homes are around $500,000-700,000, and the smaller homes are around $300,000-450,000.                       Location: Northwest Baltimore City right up to the county line (with a few str...

Baltimore Train Garden Glen Avenue Fire Station Free Admission  After  55 years this is the longest running fire house train garden in Baltimore. You don't have to be a little kid to enjoy and there is a lot to see and learn about Baltimore. It is magical with many moving parts. If  you look closely, you will find fire fighting scenes, Elvis Presley, The Grinch, pirates, a drive-in movie complete with screen and cars, Natty Boh, a hot air balloon, a cemetery and many different trains moving around different tracks at different levels.  The exhibit is open every day from 10 AM to 9 PM and is located at 2700 Glen Ave 21215 in Northwest Baltimore. Firefighter Jacobs was on hand to fix one of the trains and share some history with my daughter Erica. The exhibit is open every day through Jan...
