Sundae's on Sunday at the Arbutus Branch Public LibraryTo celebrate the return of Sunday hours, the Arbutus Branch of the Baltimore County Public Library is hosting Sundaes on Sunday through October. This Sunday, September 17, the Miss Twist truck will be at our Arbutus Branch from 3 to 4 p.m. Anyone who shows a library card receives a one-topping sundae. My New Favorite Local Pizza Place - Pizza 786As I write this I am thinking the title makes this seem like a Pizza union, but it isn't.  We decided to order pizza last night and I thought we'd try somewhere new, I found a review for Pizza 786 online and thought we'd give it a try and I'm glad we did.  From the menu this restaurant is Halal friendly, there is no pork anywhere on this menu and there are some unusual Greek and Indian combinations in the Stromboli and Pizza selections.  We ordered cheesy garlic bread which had plenty of cheese but, for our taste, was too light on the garlic.  Battered mushrooms which were really good, very tasty and lots of them.  And, a The Works Pizza.  The sauce was just right, very good, and not too acidic and they sure didn't skimp on the toppings or th... 02/09/2022

Free kids movies at RC Theater in Arbutus This Summer Going to the movies seems to be getting more expensive and flashy with huge great complexes. A hidden gem whether you live in Catonsville, Ellicott City or Columbia sits on the Main Street in Arbutus. The RC Hollywood Movie Theatre in Arbutus is a movie theater that time forgot. It is small, threadbare and sometimes the reels get stuck during the movie, but it's simple and enjoyable. I had the pleasure of accompanying my daughter's Kindergarten class on a wonderful trek to Arbutus Auto Painting and Bodyworks, 4621 Leeds Avenue, Arbutus, MD.  We weren't showing them the ins and outs of accident repair, we were participating in a 13 year tradition of visiting their holiday train garden.  The guys and ladies in the shop showed obvious pride in sharing their  meticulous work with the 5 and 6 year olds.  Amid shouts of "Did you see...?", "Hey, come look at this!"  The oohs and ahhhs as the trains rode by really puts one in a holiday mood!
