Lincoln-Sudbury 20, Hingham 3   Sometimes things happen for a reason.   After being in the media's spotlight following last week's rowdy behavior at the high school football game, Lincoln-Sudbury students last night attended the game against Hingham with their PARENTS! That's right!  High school students were required to have a parent in attendance if they wanted to attend the game, as a consequence of the underage drinking that had taken place at last week's game, taxing police and medical resources, and tarnishing the school's reputation. Or so some people thought.   Rather, the tempest at Lincoln-Sudbury served to remind both students and parents that school officials were taking student behavior seriously, and they were enlisting the support of parents to make sure that student welf...

Posted on September 19, 2008 by bostonkayakguy  Today’s Lincoln-Sudbury HS football game will see a marked difference from the past. In order for students to be able to attend Friday’s game, the School Superintendent has deemed that   students must have a parent in attendance.  This is in response to last week’s game where a number of students were drunk, many were drinking, and some had to be taken away to the hospital or to be charged with minor offenses, all of which taxed police and medical resources. This policy change is bound to have ramifications in the world of high school football. And while the policy is currently intended to be in effect for just Friday’s game, school officials will be watching closely. Reactions to the consequences of last week’s game behavior were mixed, t...

You’re probably hearing and reading a lot about the current real estate market.  Yes, this summer has seen the buyers’ market continue and has not been a fantastic one for sellers.  Towns such as Sudbury, however, are always desirable and still have many people buying houses here.  July and August are typically very slow months in the real estate business so the general slowdown may seem more dire than it is.  Things are likely to pick up once Labor Day arrives and lots of buyers are still looking in Sudbury.  As a seller, you just have to realize that they are looking at more houses than in times past and are pickier. If you’re thinking of selling all is not gloom and doom.  The number one way to entice a buyer to buy YOUR house is pricing – no matter what the market is like, buyers wi...
