What does it cost to live in MetroWest Mass?  If the attached article is correct, not as much as you might think.  According to this article from the Northborough Patch, a family of four (two adults, a preschool age child, and another school-aged child) would need to earn $74,000 to make ends meet without public, or private assistance.  Personally, I'm pretty sure that the authors of this article do not know my daughters, or these numbers would be skewed higher, and I live in Northborough, MA, which, according to the article, requires an income of only $64,728 to meet its needs. It shouldn't be a surprise that it's less expensive to live in Worcester County than in Middlesex County.  Properties close to Boston tend to fetch higher values than those farther away. There's also a psycholo...

Are you guilty of using the "same old same old"?  I confess.  I'm guilty as charged.  Real Estate agents are in the business of marketing homes, and sometimes, many of us (myself included), get into the habit of writing the same old stuff, i.e. 3-bedrooms, 2.5 baths, etc.   Once in a while, this is ok.  Too often, however, may drive people away if they don't fall asleep like this animal.     Make your posts interesting, and prospects will visit frequently, and perhaps buy a home.  Repetitive and boring posts, however, are likely to discourage people from coming back.  Here are some tips for attracting and keeping readers: Use images in each post.  Good bloggers always include images.  The reason is because they make posts more appealing for the readers.  Creating your own images is best...

Town of Southborough Suburban location, pleasant neighborhoods, historic school system and an easy commute to Boston - These are all descriptions appropriate to the Town of Southborough. History In its early days Southborough was known as "Stony Brook" and was actually part of the nearby Marlboro (or Malborough) in the 1600s.  The Town of Southborough did not become a town on its own until July 17, 1727.      During that period, the Town of Southborough was primarily a farming and agricultural community with saw and grain mills as well as iron works.  The town's inhabitants spent their days tending crops, working in the orchards and watching over their cattle.  One of the remnants of that life is still the existence with the much beloved Galloway Striped Cows.  Railroads and small facto...

I recently set what I believe is a new record for the amount of days between the first and second showings of a property to the same buyer.  We first saw this property in Southborough on New Year's Eve 2009 and recently saw it again in late January 2011.  I told my buyer, who was an investor, and he was shocked!  He could not believe it had been that long.  Since he saw it that first time, an offer had been submitted and the property had subsequently gone under agreement with another buyer.  It remained under agreement for a very long time until the deal died at the last minute and the seller was forced to put the home back on the market. Since it had been that long, we decided to check it out again. My client is still potentially interested, but in that year, the home's condition has n...
