The Central Business District is one of the many neighborhoods in New Orleans.  Just like many other cities it is also referred to as "downtown."  However, in New Orleans historically downtown was referred to as all areas down river from Canal St.  In resent years this terminology has ceased and other neighborhoods down river from Canal St have gained there own identity such as the French Quarter.  Its boundaries are described as Iberville, Decatur and Canal Street to the north, the Mississippi River to the east, the Convention Center, Julia and Magazine Street and the Pontchartrain Expressway to the south and South Claiborne Ave, Cleveland and South and North Derbigny Streets to the west. Though Jane and I are primarily residential agents in New Orleans, I occasionally do serve commercial clients and that is how I spent today.
