The Byater Neighborhood of New Orleans               The Bywater is that area between St. Claude Avenue and the Mississippi River. It runs from Franklin Avenue to the Industrial Canal near Poland Avenue.  Its an up and coming neighborhood with a lot of renovations and a demand area. The majority of condos in the area are going to be parts of doubles or buildings a little larger but few complexes.       Lets view the neighborhood and see what the homes and streets look like. The best way for me to do that is do that thru photos of the Bywater Neighborhood. View of the Bywater Neighborhood at Sunrise from the French Quarter.  Its not that far away. Bridge to the Crescent Park that runs along the Mississippi River in Bywater Neighborhood of New Orleans.     View of Downtown New Orleans fr...

Crescent Park in the Bywater Neighborhood Fall of 2018, Walk The Mississippi River Great Walk in New Olreans         Crescent Park is not that old but is improving everytime I visit it. It is also going to get larger and touch in the French Quarter of New Orleans. The area was once warehouses and part of the Port of New Orleans. The park has some great variety of plants and some wonderful views of the Mississippi River.        There are lots of plants and pathways which make it a great walk and bike ride along the river. The park is now 1.4 miles long.         There is also a lot of condos and second homes close to the park and the Mississippi River. There is more places to eat and drink outside of the park. The neighborhood is blooming and improving with the additions and improvements...

Bywater Neighborhood of New Orleans     The Bywater Neighborhood runs along the Mississippi River From the railroad tracks on Press Street to the Industrial Canal. The St. Claude Avenue to the Mississippi River is the other boundary. When I was in high school the area was known as the Upper Ninth Ward. The local telephone exchange was known as Bwater and was changed to the Bywater.        The area has become to be a home for many artistic people. Its an easy bike ride, walk or jog to the French Quarter. The area is an historic district so home have to match the historic neighborhood. The new ones and those that have been remodeled are required to be historic in design to fit the neighborhood.     At one time the area was home to people that worked in industries and wharfs along the Miss...

The Bywater Neighborhood of New Orleans is down River from the French Quarter.  It runs along the Mississippi River.  Has a lot of Historic and unique buildings and homes.  It has undergone a transformation over the last 25 years that is unbelievable.      The area was named after the old phone numbering system...Bywater 8-6753. Many are too young to remember that system.  Its when you had party lines where several familes shared the smae lines...      I went to high school in the area so going back every now and then makes the area look like it was born again. In New Orleans things just get used again and again. Its history on every street.
