Introducing The Redneck Bidet-- Some days I love my job. Sure, there are days when I have to seek out the humor, but then there are times like this when the humor finds me! I found this beauty while previewing a home today in Pineville.  No, I am not stretching this from the faucet. This spray nozzle is installed where the toilet paper holder should be. My guess is the homeowner did this to help the environment. Why buy disposable toilet paper when you can install a kitchen sprayer? And a nozzle that big will cover a lot of ground. Sure it's not much for pinpoint accuracy, nor would I want to put my hands anywhere near that handle.  And checkout the size of that scented candle. Combine this with the GIANT BBQ PIT in the backyard, and this poor nozzle had his work cut out for him. Can't ...

In 2013 I will sell 60 homes, Or Get A Century 21 Tatoo On My Rear-- Life without concrete goals is simply wasted space. In 2013 I am determined to sell 60 homes in my market. Maybe I Won The Listing, Maybe I Didn't  Call me silly, but I enjoy a nice Saturday morning listing appointment. Perhaps it's an artifact of my grandmother dragging me to garage sales, but to me Saturday has always been about commerce.  Today's presentation seem to go well. I established rapport with the seller, we discussed her motivation to move (seems high), toured the home (a few pre-listing tweaks but nothing major), and talked numbers.  Like any sales person worth his/her salt, I did attempt to close multiple times. Nothing Attracts New Clients Like Past Success--  I wrote a contract today, just not with this couple. The buyers I worked with today were actually a referral from the people in the picture. Where did I meet the people in the picture? A referral from a client I worked with in 2010. My jokes never get enough credit. Though I share funny anecdotes and point out humorous things on home tour, rarely do past clients mention this. I do hear comments like, "Jacob says you can get the job done". In the end, old jokes have little staying power. Buyers and sellers what to know you can get them where they wish to be. I have learned (thanks early on to Barbara Todero) to "toot my own horn". Instead of posing like an aging Abercrombie and Finch model, I take pictures of SOLD banners on my listings. ...
