But let's examine why the cheapest property may not represent the best value. 1) Paying a note on something you hate stinks-- In my early twenties I bought a truck. In looking at three, I went with the one that was 50 dollars a month cheaper. Did I mention this beast had a 4 cylinder engine and weighed just less than the Titanic? My Client Made Gumbo For Me Tonight! Let's get the bad news out of the way first. I was up at the office tonight at 7pm working on a file. No fun, especially on a Sunday night. Just when I was ready to start a self-pity party my phone rang. Hey Doug, We saw your office light on. Come over and get some fresh gumbo. Thanks to their good nature, a day that should have ended with paperwork concluded with fresh gumbo. Like most agents, sometimes I get too caught up in the negative. Instead of celebrating my many awesome clients I let my thoughts wander to the one pain in the backside. On this day I am thankful that the majority of my clients are pretty cool people. And in these times that is a blessing!

The joys of the internet age. As I'm unwinding from the day I notice two client emails come across the old IPhone. Without even thinking about it, I look up the information and shoot a reply. Would this have happened ten years ago? Probably not. Email would have involved "unplugging the phone" and calling up AOL. With sleeping children that awful connection sound was a no-no.Instead I would be watching a bland episode of Saturday Night Live. At least some things never change...  Do I like this age of instant connection? In some ways yes.  The house was just outside my buyer's target zone, not to mention a few thousand over budget. But the pictures looked great, the neighborhood was nice, so she was willing to pay a premium.
