Window of Opportunity Otterbein Indiana   I am always grateful when driving through our small towns in the Greater Lafayette, Indiana area to see buildings in the old business districts still preserved because the owners were able to get replacement windows to fit the various and sometimes unique arched or rounded windows. This turn of the century brick building is alive and well on Main Street in Otterbein, Indiana, and one has to wonder the role of finding affordable replacement windows in helping owners keep alive some of our late 19th Century and early 20th Century business building across small town America.   Otterbein, Indiana small town pride   What's the best use of real estate when it is decaying and in disrepair?  In this case the owner donated the land to the Town of Otterbein and a delightful litte sitting area with gazebo and landscaped greeen space was created  where the former business building was located.  It is a wonderful area to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature, and the next time we pick up a pizza at the Otterbein Pizza King I know just the quiet place to enjoy the meal!

I gave myself a holiday present this year, and drove (with my younger sister) to have lunch with my other younger sister in Indianapolis. That's right... she lives in Columbus and we drove out from Chicago to meet her "bout" halfway. Lunch was nothing fancy, just a triad of siblings sitting, laughing, eating (it wouldn't be a May event, without some eating), and a little driving our waitress at Applebee's (on 421 North) a little crazy, sitting way too long, laughing way too loud and overstaying our Applebee's welcome. Along the way, we drove through a field of Wind Turbines which were impressive enough for me to drag out the i-phone, and see what I could learn about them. And, yes, these photos were taken on my iphone, through the windshield of my sisters VW Bug (she was driving) going...

BENTON CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL IS CLASS 3A STATE RUNNER-UP IN GIRLS BASKETBALL. The #3 ranked Benton Central Lady Bison overcame a first half deficit and fought back in the second half to take the lead from a much taller, #1 ranked Evansville Memorial team. The Lady Bison withstood a furious Evansville rally and had a chance to win the game on a last second shot that fell short, as the game ended in regulation in a tie! OVERTIME! The #1 ranked Tigers never looked back and clawed their way to a 58-50 overtime win over the Bison. Senior Hillary Moore led the Bison with 12 rebounds and six blocked shots against the taller Tigers. Caityln Tolen led Benton Central with 16 points, Cassidy Deno contributed 13 points, and Moore chipped in ten points. IHSAA PATRICIA ROY MENTAL ATTITUDE AWARD WINNER!...

Getting an American home mortgage is a process that requires a lot of paperwork and some consideration. With the current sub-prime fiasco facing the nation, many lenders and borrowers are a little leery about making rash decisions. In order to assure that you get the best financing to meet your needs as well as the lender’s requirements. The application process for this type of financing is quite extensive but the effort pays off in the long run. The basic requirements include a strong work history with long-term potential, an appraisal that it equal to or less than the amount of the amount borrowed and a good credit report. The Credit ReportMany potential homeowners cringe at the very idea of anyone using their credit history as a means of making a decision. An American home mortgage lo...
