I am taking a poll of thoughts regarding whether or not we are headed for Higher Home Prices in "2015"? We all know that interest rates have a definate effect on both the re~sale Price of Homes and the Real Industry in general.  What our your thoughts on where Interest Rates are heaed in "2015"?    My thoughts are that interest rates will have to remain at these historic low levels in order to keep the housing industry in a continued state of recovery.  It will be interesting to see just how our New Year shakes out for all.

Home buyers have always been willing to pay for some features more than others and Pulte Builders has done a survey showing what the results recently told us. What buyers WOULD give up? 44% said they'd be willing to give up a location near public transportation in exchange for those amenities. 35% said they'd give up better schools & proximity to entertainment & shopping. So buyers can and do get enticed away from some of the features on their primary list. I find it really astounding that buyers would even think about a lower rated school district if they have children or plan on having them in the near future. So is this saying that buyers will trade award winning schools for granite counters? Possibly yes. What do Buyers REALLY Want? 51% wanted their next home to be larger 64% wanted...

Often when buyers are moving locally within Chicagoland it's from one suburb to another. In this case the buyers found Corinne's Barrington web site and after working with other buyer agents was looking for a more genuine Realtor. Their experience with three other Realtors had been all about the Realtor's sales and nothing about the buyers goals for a very specific property. They did not have to move, they did not have to sell to be able to buy and so it was all about finding that perfect property, and a patient Realtor who cared was what these buyers really needed. The buyers interviewed Corinne Guest, Managing Broker of Barrington Realty Company to see if working with the fourth Realtor was going to be any better. At that point that had already let the third Realtor know their relatio...

Unfortunately Realtors® are always being compared to used car salesman. It really makes me mad. I personally see nothing wrong with being a car salesmen at all. In fact, I believe it's a tough profession just like my own. It's hard dealing with the public on a regular basis. BUT ...... Let me tell you how we are so very different! Realtors® pre-qualify their purchasers to be sure they can afford their product and car salesmen DO NOT.  Let me tell you about my recent foray into the purchase of a new car. NEVER did any salesman ask me if I could afford to purchase a car. NEVER did anyone even ask me if I talked to a bank or know what my FICO score was. NEVER. I ......  had to mention that I would like to talk about finances before deciding to look at a vehicle in any price range. Seems...

Our Northwest Suburban inventory level has increased slowly every month since June. You've got slightly more competition now than earlier this year so be sure to price your home accordingly. Some subdivisions still have not had any sales since reaching market bottom. Can't have any prices increases if there are no listings to sell! Some sellers still cannot sell because prices cannot be substa...

You see these seminars that offer to teach you how to invest in real estate and eventually take over the world but is there any value in what they are teaching? I attended an event not too long ago from Pathway Events Presentation and I'll be honest, I really went to get a picture with Ty Pennington. But they pretty much kept the 'hunk' under wraps until you signed on the dotted line for their seminar which was an eye popping $1997. Had to listen to the whole sales pitch and how the $1997 wasn't bad because someday you are going to be a millionaire and that's chump change to the likes of the 'Donald'. But I'm pretty skeptical on what they were teaching because they were selling a 'Property Analysis Report' that you do on any property in the U.S. and get a value for it. Really? Sounds li...
