The Maui Humane Society is helping to save plenty of pets and getting the community involved too.  Throughout the year they have special events to raise funds and get everyone out having fun while doing so.Some of the annual events you can participate in: Paddle for Pets Dine out for Pets Golf Tournament in Wailea Charity Walk There are many ways you can help make a better life for Maui's dogs and cats, and other creatures.  Volunteer at the animal shelter by cleaning and caring for the animals and their enclosures.  Take home a pet to foster when there's not enough spaces for them at the shelter.  Get tags and licenses for your pets.  Take agility classes with your dog.  Donations to this non-profit organization are always welcome and the support is really appreciated.The Maui Humane S... 02/22/2018

This is the end - the end of sugar on MauiIt has been officially announced that there will be no more sugar cane growing on Maui after this 2016 season.  HC&S (Hawaiian Commercial & Sugar Company) will not be planting any more sugar cane, but will continue to harvest the crops in the ground this year.This is a huge event for Maui and the end of an era in Hawaii.  Sugar has been grown here in the islands since 1835, and at one time there were over 30 plantations on Maui alone.  In the 1960's sugar operations were eclipsed by the rise of tourism, and in the 1990's the writing was on the wall.  Maui's Puunene Sugar Mill is the last mill still operating in Hawaii and after processing this final harvest it will no longer serve its intended function.This news comes with mixed feelings for man... 03/01/2016

Maui Skies - the long road home - Wailea to Haiku Driving home from Wailea Maui to Haiku Maui takes you by these dramatic skies over Puunene Sugar Mill. The world title race for this year WCT Pro Surfing Tour Title has to wait till Spain.  Kelly Slater was not allowed a win in the final in France. Adrian Bucham held off Kelly Slater in the finals to a second place finish.  Kelly has won five events this year which is crazy. A second place finish prolongs Kelly from being crowned world champ for the ninth time. Spain he just needs to get pass wound three nand we will clich the title.
